About

Artificial Intelligence is a branch of computer science that focuses on creating machines and software capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. These tasks include learning from data, recognizing patterns, understanding language, making decisions, and even creative problem-solving.

From virtual assistants like Siri and Alexa to advanced technologies like self-driving cars and medical diagnostic systems, AI is shaping how we interact with technology and the world around us. By combining algorithms, data, and computing power, AI systems can improve over time, becoming more accurate and efficient.

In this subworld, you’ll explore topics such as machine learning, neural networks, robotics, natural language processing, and AI ethics. Whether you’re curious about how AI powers your favorite apps or interested in building your own intelligent systems, this is your space to learn, share, and innovate.

Hello, I'm Nehemiah. I love tutoring with people in Computer Science, Environmental Science, Chemistry & History, but I am heavily experienced in artificial intelligence & global history. I genuinely believe that putting a lot of work into learning means that any goal is entirely plausible for you. A lot more praises if you are into the gym, music or traveling.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

You will be withdrawn from the series if you have more than 2 unexcused absences in a row. Please message the tutor in advance for any absences!

You are free to attend/skip whichever optional sessions you want.

Although the experimental session are optional, it is highly recommended that you attend to get hands on and 1-1 experience with these systems.

Wed 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM UTCJul 30, 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM UTC

The Basics

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is one of the most transformative technologies of our time, shaping everything from how we search online to how doctors diagnose diseases. In this introductory session, students will explore what AI really is, how it differs from traditional computer programs, and why it’s such a big deal in today’s world.

We’ll cover:

- A simple definition of AI and how it works at a high level

- Examples of AI you interact with every day (social media, voice assistants, recommendation systems)

- A quick history snapshot of AI’s evolution—from early computers to modern AI like ChatGPT and self-driving cars

- An interactive demo showing how a computer can “learn” using data

By the end of the session, you’ll know what makes AI unique, where it’s used, and why it’s both exciting and important to understand.
