About

Do your future self a favor and get a head start now! AP English Language and Composition is one of the most challenging—and rewarding—courses you’ll take in high school. Unlike any English class you’ve had before, AP Lang demands advanced reading, critical thinking, and sophisticated writing skills that can feel overwhelming at first. That’s why I’m offering this AP Lang Bootcamp—a fast-paced, interactive series to help you hit the ground running.

In this bootcamp, you’ll get a head start on the most important skills: breaking down tough readings, mastering rhetorical analysis, argument, and synthesis essays, and handling tricky multiple-choice questions with confidence. Each session is interactive and focused on real AP prompts, so you’ll be practicing exactly what the course and exam require. Whether you’re aiming for a top score or just want to walk into AP Lang feeling prepared (not stressed!), make sure to join to set yourself up for a great year

I’m a rising senior from New Jersey with a passion for tutoring math (Pre-Algebra through AP Calculus BC), AP Physics (1 & 2), AP Economics, English (up to AP Lang), AP Computer Science (Principles & A), and Spanish (I–III). I’m currently enrolled in Multivariable Calculus (Calc III), Linear Algebra, AP Physics C: Electricity & Magnetism, AP Statistics, AP Literature, and AP Spanish. In my free time, I love going for long runs and hikes, relaxing at the beach, and spending time with friends and family. Great tutors have made a huge difference in my own learning journey, and I hope to make the same impact on others! I also have five years of tutoring experience outside of Schoolhouse. I’m super excited to meet new students and help you reach your goals!

We’ll break down the different types of writing you’ll do in AP Lang and introduce the concept of rhetorical analysis—one of the most important skills for the course and exam. We’ll also look at a sample AP prompt together and start practicing how to approach it as a reader and writer. By the end of this class, you’ll have a clear sense of what’s ahead and some simple strategies to start building your AP Lang confidence from day one.

What We’ll Cover in Session 2:

Rhetorical analysis is often the most challenging part of AP Lang for students, which is why it’s so helpful to tackle it early and build your confidence. In our second session, we’ll focus on understanding and identifying rhetorical strategies and devices—key skills that can feel intimidating at first but get much easier with practice. We’ll work on close reading techniques, annotation strategies, and look at real AP exam examples to see what high-level analysis looks like. By starting now, you’ll get ahead of the curve and make this essential skill feel a lot less daunting as the year goes on. You’ll leave this class ready to spot rhetorical moves in any passage and begin developing your own strong analytical writing.
