SESSION 1

Algebra foundations

Algebra foundations

Thu 10:00 PM - 11:10 PM UTCJul 24, 10:00 PM - 11:10 PM UTC

In our first Algebra 1 session, we’ll review some of the most important building blocks of algebra: simplifying expressions, using the order of operations (PEMDAS), and solving one- and two-step equations. We’ll also practice translating real-world problems into algebraic expressions. This session is interactive, so bring your questions, and be ready to solve problems together on the screen!

SESSION 2

Algebra foundations

Algebra foundations

Fri 12:00 AM - 1:10 AM UTCAug 1, 12:00 AM - 1:10 AM UTC

In this session, we’ll dive into solving multi-step equations and learn how to simplify expressions using the distributive property and combining like terms. We’ll also introduce inequalities—what they mean and how to graph them on a number line. You’ll get plenty of practice and support as we work through examples together. Bring your questions and be ready to interact!

SESSION 4

Algebra foundations

Algebra foundations

Fri 12:00 AM - 1:10 AM UTCAug 8, 12:00 AM - 1:10 AM UTC

In this session, we’ll explore how to graph linear equations and understand the parts of a line, including slope and y-intercept. You’ll learn how to use the slope-intercept form (y = mx + b) and practice plotting points on a coordinate plane. We'll work through examples together, and you'll leave with a better understanding of how algebra connects to graphs!

Algebra foundations

Algebra foundations

Fri 12:00 AM - 1:10 AM UTCAug 15, 12:00 AM - 1:10 AM UTC

In this session, we’ll learn how to write linear equations from graphs, tables, and word problems. You’ll practice finding the slope from two points and interpreting what the slope and y-intercept mean in real-life situations. This session is all about connecting math to the real world, so bring your thinking caps and get ready to create equations from scratch!

Algebra foundations

Algebra foundations

Fri 12:00 AM - 1:10 AM UTCSep 5, 12:00 AM - 1:10 AM UTC

In this session, students will explore the structure and meaning of linear equations written in slope-intercept form: y = mx + b
We will break down the components of this equation—slope (m) and y-intercept (b)—and learn how each affects the graph of a line. Students will practice identifying slope and intercepts, calculating slope from two points, and using this information to accurately graph linear equations on a coordinate plane. This session builds foundational graphing skills and prepares students to interpret and model real-world relationships using linear functions.
