About

Hello learners!

In this series, I will share my interest in chemistry by exploring concepts learned during the final course of the general chemistry series in college as a biology major.

As I review the concepts, I will examine the fundamental skills and knowledge required to solve these advanced chemistry problems.
Concepts I will go over include topics tested in standardized medical college tests, such as the MCAT, showing the importance of fully understanding them.

Whether you are a beginner or advanced in the topic of general chemistry, this course can allow you to learn more or master the concepts you know.

Below are a few of the topics I will go over:
Chemical Kinetics; Reaction Rates & Rate Laws; Collision Theory & Energy Diagrams; Reaction Mechanisms & Catalysts; Chemical Equilibrium & Equilibrium Constants (K, Kp, Kc); Reaction Quotient (Q) & Le Chatelier’s Principle/ Equilibrium Calculations; Free Energy and Temperature Effects on Equilibrium; Acid-Base Definitions (Arrhenius, Brønsted-Lowry); Ka, Kb, and Relative Strengths; Acid-Base Properties of Salts and Ions; Common Ion Effect & Buffers; Redox Reactions & Oxidation Numbers; Electrochemistry & Galvanic Cells; Standard Cell Potential (E°cell) and ΔG°.
