About

This series will go over immediately applicable tips & techniques for some of the geometry and trigonometry problems you may see on the SAT, as well as general problem strategies for getting a high score in these skills. We will have group practice time in both of the sessions in order to put these ideas into practice. Some of the things I'll go over with explain how to use the calculator on certain questions to make them easier to solve, as well as how to break apart large triangles into smaller ones.

I'm a high school student from Asheville, NC. I am very interested in math and chemistry, and I program at my school's robotics team. I play percussion in band and orchestra, and I also like to learn about history and anthropology. I have had experience tutoring underserved kids in my local area as well as those at my school. I have two cats, one who is nice and shy, and another who is quite bratty and arrogant (he steals his sister's food.) I'm here to help with those studying for the SAT and ACT, as well as those learning Pre-Calculus or Calculus AB.

Don't miss more than one sessions, because I'll only have two sessions in total. I think that's pretty self-exaplanatory.

Fri 9:45 PM - 10:45 PM UTCMay 23, 9:45 PM - 10:45 PM UTC

In this session, we'll introduce ourselves and go over some geometry basics. Then, each one of you will take an individual benchmark "quiz" of ten questions to see where you're at. Next, we'll solve some geometry & trigonometry questions as a group involving quadrilaterals and triangles. Finally, we'll use some of the things we learned from group practice to develop our understanding and some more complex strategies for the types of questions we went over.

In this session, we will go over more complex topics relating to trigonometry and geometry, solving problems regarding complex quadrilaterals like kites and trapezoids and problems involving combinations of circles with other shapes we've already gone over. I will be providing tips and techniques along the way to assist you. Then, we'll finish up with an individual problem set to sum up everything we've went over so far and review it afterwards as a group.
