About

Join to learn the ins and outs of policy debate and learn how to structure arguments and beat others, while debating about key real-world issues and finding good policies to address them! Every week, we will go over some basics on policy debate, and cover some sort of new argumentation or a way to articulate other arguments and find rebuttals. There will be practice debate sessions where we run through an actual debate with the participants - they are super fun. We will be using the novice packet for simplicity - the NDCA novice packet. I will provide a copy of the packet word files once we start the class, but it is available online.

Schedule

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Message me if you can and can't make it - and please try to make all if not most of the lessons. Policy debate is super fun and interesting, but there is a lot of argumentation, and having to re-explain topics that we expand upon gets tough. A lot of it is logical, but a lot of it will seem new, so its best if you make it to most lessons. If there is a high demand for the class, I will not be afraid to kick out those who are regularly absent - if you have two unexcused absences then I will have to remove you.
