About
Welcome to the first of many sessions like this, where will explore various texts in history. In this session, we will read 'Commentaries on the Gallic War' by Julius Caesar and learn to analyze it so that we could get substantial knowledge about the man who wrote it and the era he lived in.
There will be four sessions in this series. The first is an introductory one where we will get to know each other and discuss the backdrop in which the book was written so that we can have proper context.
The next two sessions will be the analyzing of the text itself. Book I - IV will be discussed in one session and Book V - VII will be discussed in the other.
The final session will be where we wrap up the series. This is where I will ask you to explain to me the place of this book in that era and its general idea as a revision.
There is a two-weeks gap between each session to give you some breathing room so that you could get the most out of the text you read.
If you have a library near you with this book, you can read from there.
If not, here is a link to the eBook:
