About

Have you ever wanted to argue a case in court, represent a witness, or decide the outcome of a trial? Then this series is for you!

We'll learn about courtroom procedures as well as typical trial order. We'll also learn to strengthen our arguments in order to persuade.

Finally, the most important part of this series is the mock trial that we will be participating in, Piggy v. Wolfe. Every role has tailored character sheets designed, as well as a case guide and specific role advice.

Teamwork is especially important in this series, as everyone will be working with a team, so come as a willing participant.

This series will help develop public speaking skills and confidence, help shape critical thinking skills, strengthen your understanding of the legal system, and have fun while doing this!

Tutor Qualifications

Amanda O ⭐

I ran my school's Current Events Club with 60 members, and hosted multiple mock trials that attracted around 20 participants each. In each mock trial, we provided instructional advice that was beginner friendly, as well as a walkthrough for everything. Apart from mock trials, I am also an experienced Reading & Writing tutor with a focus in Essay Writing and Narrative, and a recent Algebra 2 tutor.

Sara I ⭐

I was the head of my school’s summer camp to teach people interested in mock trial. I have also taken a summer class on the law and practiced and taught mock trials during it. My team has won the most state-level championships in the state, and we do local and state level competitions and prep four days a week. I’m an SAT tutor and also plan to get a certification in Calculus soon.

About the Tutor

Hello! My name is Amanda. I am a rising freshman student from Virginia. I specialize in essay writing here on Schoolhouse, as well as the development of creative narratives. I'm also introducing new topics in enrichment! My favorite books include mysteries, such as those by Agatha Christie, and dystopia novels like "Scythe," "Shatter Me," and "Divergent." I have a wide taste, so DM me if you need/have book suggestions or need writing help! Beyond reading, I'm a creative writer and I've won a Scholastic Writing Regional Silver Key award in my first year submitting. I also enjoy expressing myself through content creation and blogging. I love participating in school clubs. I had founded and presided over my school's Current Events Club. I was also a member of the National Junior Honor Society, second place for award rate in our top-ranked Model UN team, and I was a school new-student Ambassador.
