About

Every week we will cover a topic in the Algebra II curriculum that is most voted by learners during that session. If you have mastered certain topics but not others, feel free to join only those sessions that benefit you! My goal is to have all my students familiar with as many Alg 2 topics as possible.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Session 1

Polynomial arithmetic

We'll explore the connection between polynomials and the integers, through adding, subtracting, and multiplying polynomials. This prepares us for factoring and dividing polynomials, and paves the way for complex modeling in fields like physics, engineering, and finance.

Session 2

Complex numbers

We will go over the mathematical operations involving complex numbers as well as how to use the power of i in your work!

Mar

Session 3

Polynomial factorization

We'll get equipped with a variety of key strategies for breaking down higher degree polynomials. From taking out common factors to using special products, we'll build a strong foundation to help us investigate polynomial functions and prove identities.

Session 4

Logarithms

Logarithms are the inverses of exponents. They allow us to solve challenging exponential equations, and they are a good excuse to dive deeper into the relationship between a function and its inverse.

Session 5

Rational exponents and radicals

We previously learned about integer powers—first positive and then also negative. But what does it mean to raise a number to the 2.5 power? In Algebra 2, we extend previous concepts to include rational powers. We'll define how they work, and use them to rewrite exponential expressions in various ways.

Session 6

Trigonometry

In this session, I want to spend extra time explaining the foundational principles of trigonometry and how trig functions interact with the coordinate plane. My goal is to have students be able to visualize any trigonometric function.
