About

1st Session: We will start by introducing ourselves, making some fun icebreakers, and asking the participants what draws them to writing for young readers and what are some specific things they would like to learn about. We will show a brief overview of what we will learn.

2nd Session: We will set the foundations for writing for young writers. We will discuss fundamental aspects crucial for writing for young readers, such as tips, plot development, pacing, creating compelling narratives, and engaging storytelling methods. We will leave a little homework.

3rd Session: We will continue to learn about writing for young writers. Together we will check the little homework and provide peer feedback to our work.

4th Session: We will share resources to elevate your writing journey for young writers and writing in general.

5th Session: We will conclude this series by sharing what we learned, our goals for children's writing and will conduct a brief writing exercise or prompt related to writing for young readers to practically apply the concepts discussed. Finally we will have a group reflection. Here participants will share their insights, lessons learned, and key takeaways from the session.

Hi, I'm Micaela! As a homeschooled high school student passionate about writing, I founded Upwright Youth to guide students toward achieving their writing aspirations. Simultaneously, I excel as a top 20-ranked tennis player in South America, balancing athletic prowess with academic dedication. I am currently progressing through the fourth book in the Suzuki method for violin, and play in the worship ministry of my church. I love Schoolhouse for the supportive community where you can both tutor and get tutored. I would also love to accomplish my dream of studying in an IVY League with Schoolhouse help! -Upwright Youth Website https://www.upwrightyouth.org
