October slipped away into a moment in time, and now you want your SAT experience to be truly sublime. With December slowly approaching, come join our small, lovely circle of dedicated individuals to enrich your skills and get your dream score!
Background information:
Hi! I'm Farisa, a high school junior from the US, and I scored a 1500+ on the October SAT. I am also planning to take the December SAT, so this will be a learning experience for all of us! :)
Course Overview:
- 8 sessions, biweekly
- Covering both Math and R&W sections
- Student-based: the sessions will focus around anything you would like to go over!
- Skill-based: info on SAT-specific test-taking skills
Course requirements:
- 600-700 range for R&W and/or Math

Review
Student-focused review session on SAT Math!
Introduction: 5 minutes
- Catching up with everyone!
Segment 1: 20 minutes
- Algebraic/Statistical focus: covering exponents and statistics using practice problems and harder examples from the SAT
Segment 2: 20 minutes
- Geometric focus: covering the reference sheet and how to use it, circle formulas, volume formulas as well as how to interpret the relationship between area and volume

Student-focused review session on R&W!

Segment 1: Introduction: 5 minutes
- catching up with everyone!
Segment 2: SAT Reading & Writing Overview (25-30 minutes)
- Timing on the Reading & Writing section
- Overview of the content in each section
- Working through a history/science passage on Khan Academy

- Working through a writing passage on Khan Academy

- Regrouping and explaining answers

- Covering one writing passage given tips and independently working on questions
- Regrouping for 5 minutes

- Working through various practice problems in various subjects on the SAT with tips
- Student-led, guided practice for each problem :)

Student-focused review session on SAT R&W!
Introduction (5 minutes)
Segment I: Practice, practice, practice! (40 minutes)
- Working through a practice test for reading or writing, your choice!
- For either option, I will be sharing my screen and we will work through at least one
passage together
- The rest of the section is up to you whether everyone wants to work on it together
(regrouping in office hours), or if you want to work on it independently and/or finish the
whole section :)
