Physics Prep for AP Physics 1, 2, & C and Olympiads

4th session

This will be a mildly rigorous course focusing on preparation for the AP Physics 1, 2, & C tests as well as Physics Olympiads. Each week, we'll spend about half of the session learning new material before spending the other half for any questions learner's may have. Learner's are heavily encouraged to practice outside of class if they plan to take an Olympiad test.

AP Physics 1: Mastering the Course from Start to Finish

6th session

AP Physics 1: Mastering the Course from Start to Finish

Instructor: Anish P
Duration: September 6, 2025 – February 28, 2026
Sessions: 23 live interactive classes (60–90 minutes each)
Format: Live lessons with guided explanations, AP-style practice, collaborative problem-solving, and Q&A. Session lengths vary by topic: 90 minutes for unit introductions and reviews, 75 minutes for main content lessons, and 60 minutes for shorter topics or the final wrap-up session.

Course Description:
This course is designed to guide AP Physics 1 students through every unit of the official College Board curriculum in a clear, structured, and interactive way. Each session combines concise concept explanations, step-by-step problem solving, and AP-style practice questions to help you master the material and succeed on the AP exam.

We’ll follow a unit-by-unit approach aligned with Khan Academy’s AP Physics 1 resources and selected YouTube demonstrations for supplemental study. Between classes, students will be encouraged to review linked materials, complete practice problems, and prepare questions for the next session.

By the end of the course, you will:
  • Understand all AP Physics 1 topics, from kinematics to fluids.
  • Apply concepts to solve multi-step problems under timed conditions.
  • Recognize and avoid common mistakes on the AP exam.
  • Build the confidence and skills needed to excel both in class and on test day.

Course Expectations:
To make the most of this course, students are expected to:
  1. Attendance – You will be withdrawn from the series if you have more than 2 unexcused absences in a row. If you cannot attend, message me AND submit an excused absence form on the platform before the session.
  2. Participation – Actively contribute by answering questions, asking clarifying questions, and engaging in problem-solving discussions.
  3. Preparation – Review linked supplemental materials before or after sessions and attempt practice problems to reinforce learning.
  4. Respect – Maintain a collaborative and respectful environment during all sessions.
  5. Communication – Let me know if a topic is unclear or if you need extra help—this course works best when it’s a two-way interaction.

AP Physics 1 Mastery - a Conceptual and Practical Understanding of Physics Concepts

7th session

I'll be continuing my last two sessions with this thread. Every Tuesday - 7pm EST. We covered basic kinematics and derived equations, looked at units on the x-axis/y-axis and understood why equations make sense, and analyzed graphs to decipher a particle's motion. We will be doing some practice questions with kinematics. We will be tackling every other unit in AP Physics 1 with the same type of methodology - - intuitive/conceptual learning, practice, questions, more practice, and graphical analysis! We will also work our way through numerous AP Test Style practice problems, and how to tackle them.
