Math for the June 2023 SAT

Hi! I’m Eli, a homeschooled 18-year-old from the US. I have completed high school math through AP Calculus BC and am currently taking Relations, Mappings, and Functions (an advanced college-level math class). I have taken the SAT twice and the PSAT once. I used Khan Academy to prepare each time, and I loved it, so I’m excited to help y’all through the same material. I firmly believe in learning from “first principles”, which means understanding why you’re doing something, not just how to do it. For example, you might know that any number with an exponent of zero is equal to one. But do you know why? In addition to using first principles to brush up on the actual math, I’ll also go over test taking strategies - for example, you can find the correct answer to some SAT problems even if you don’t know how to solve the stated problem, and similar tricks can help you earn points and save time.

Reading and Writing for the November 2022 SAT

Hi! I’m Eli, a homeschooled 17-year-old from the US. I have taken the SAT twice and the PSAT once. I used Khan Academy to prepare each time, and I loved it, so I’m excited to help y’all through the same material. I have taken both AP English courses, and I learned a number of test-taking tips for the AP tests that also apply to the SAT. In particular, the SAT often tries to trick students by providing answer choices that are partially right, so a big part of doing well on SAT reading & writing is training yourself to look for the answer that is not wrong, rather than the answer that seems right. In addition to helping y’all find the not-wrong answers, I’ll also go over general test taking strategies, such as working efficiently under time limits.

This three-week tutoring series will help you prepare for the upcoming June SAT in Math. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam.

You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT in June. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can!

Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.
