Chess from Square One!

N.B. This is a series for beginners! That might be around below ∼1000 elo on chess.com and below ∼1400 or so on lichess

We'll work through the basics of how to play chess, and also build a few beginner skills! There will be lectures, exercises for the whole group, and a tournament to wrap up the whole series!

No prior knowledge is needed, and if you'd like, I can host a few extra "office hours" sessions where I can go over any of your questions! The only requirement is that (if you plan on joining the online tournaments) you sign up to lichess.org which I highly recommend doing so anyway.

There may be some small homework, but that will be optional, and simply just a few quizzes that you will get feedback for after!

This was a session made for someone in my chess series who was much stronger at chess than the series was meant for, but feel free to join!

My vague plan is to go through that person's (∼1900 lichess) games, but if you'd like anything chess related or if you want me to go through your games and we have time I'd be happy to do so!
