Visualizing and Making Sense out of Calculus

Session Details

About

Have you ever wondered how limits are (actually) defined? Why the L'Hopital's rule even work and what does it mean? Why the differentiating rules work the way they do? In this session, I will try to visualize (without overloading you with meaningless formulas and problems) some popular Calc 1-2 topics and give you a chance to see the beauty of calculus. I also hope that some of these visualizations will help you make sense of what you are doing at school (or college). Also, I would be happy to just talk about your experiences with calculus, discuss what and how I learned it, and give you some practical advice if you wish. You are encouraged to draw some things with me to "feel" what we are doing and to talk/chat with me, but don't expect too much problems. This is more like a story time rather than another boring class. Please note that the session may be longer or shorter, and you are welcome to leave early if you need.

Tutor Qualifications

Hi everyone! I am taking Calc 3 at college right now, and I took AP Calculus BC (scored 5 on the exam) and a few other rigorous non-American classes. I had a chance a compare curriculum of different countries and learn some topics from another perspective!
