About

We will first start with one dimensional motion. We will explore kinematics; Newton's laws; work, energy, power; center of mass; and collisions in one dimension. We will then introduce the concept of vectors and its application in motion in more than one dimension. In the next part of the series, we will revisit the topics from kinematics to collisions­—this time in more than one dimension using vectors. This part of the session will mostly involve solving problems, getting comfortable with vectors and reviewing earlier concepts in a new light. After this, we will move on to circular motion and finally rigid body dynamics (which includes torque, moment of inertia, etc.). After each session, you will receive a set of homework problems. The homework problems aim to get you comfortable with the concepts learnt and try to lead you to explore by yourself, concepts that will be covered in the future. So please complete the homework before the next session. The homework is for the benefit of the learner and is not mandatory. Learners must know calculus.
