About
The purpose of this approximately 4-week series is for me, as a perfect scorer, to help you get better at the SAT Math section - regardless of where you are currently in your SAT preparation!
Just starting to prepare for the SAT? Great! Come join me as we delve into topic-by-topic sessions on all of the math skills, tips, and tricks you need to achieve your desired score. Already taken the SAT and/or feel like you'd benefit from some guidance during your current preparation? Well, you've come to the right place. With many worksheets on hand alongside prior experience with math tutoring, I'll do my best to help you improve your score by the August SAT date to whatever your aim is - whether that be 600 or 800!
No prior knowledge of SAT-specific math is required - it's completely open to anyone from beginners to those who just want to refresh/recap their skills. And yes, if all you need is some more practice questions, this is the right place for you as well!
Full Disclosure: This will be my first Schoolhouse series. However, I have a cumulative total of 12+ months of experience in tutoring STEM topics (such as math and computer science) in person and via Zoom. Likewise, I will have hosted a few individual Schoolhouse sessions by the time we meet.

- Gold Award In UKMT Junior & Intermediate Mathematics Challenges (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 Best In School Award)
- Silver Award In UKMT Senior Mathematics Challenge (2020, 2021)
- Distinctions In CEMC Mathematics Contests (2020, 2021, 2022)
- Recently Took AP Calculus AB (+ Experience In AP Calculus BC - Taking Next Year) - Scored A 5
Tutored by
High school senior in Texas (from India, grew up in Singapore) with a deep passion for math, computer science, and their relations with other STEM fields. Outside of school, I enjoy pursuing interdisciplinary research projects, participating in FIRST robotics competitions, debating in the World Schools format, and programming using a variety of languages (Python, C++, and JavaScript being my favorites). Having recently worked as a STEM-oriented volunteer tutor for various organizations in Singapore and India, I'm excited to join Schoolhouse and continue this journey of giving back to the community. Also a fan of '80s-'00s pop, rock, rap, and Bollywood music!

Please try to avoid missing two or more sessions in a row. If you have a valid reason for not meeting this attendance requirement, message me and we can go over the content covered. An invalid reason for no attendance, however, will sadly lead to removal from the series.
P.S. Trust me - I don't want to remove anyone from this series! I want to help y'all learn and get better, so just do your best to show up.

In this session, we'll be introducing ourselves and going over the structure of the course. This includes dates, times, etc. of when I'll host Office Hours/Q&A sessions and other administrative details. This session will be half the length of a usual one (i.e. 30 mins vs 1-hour content session), and we may end early if necessary.
Quick note: I'll assign SAT Math homework after we cover each SAT Math topic area (namely "Heart of Algebra", "Passport to Advanced Mathematics", "Problem Solving & Data Analysis", and "Additional Topics in Math") in the College Board syllabus. Most topics will take two sessions to cover all content, some will only take one (just something to keep in mind.) This is, of course, unless we as a group feel that the homework is unnecessary/doesn't help y'all improve.
Also, a quick note on meetings where I don't cover new content: Office Hours sessions will either function as a time for you to work on these questions and ask along the way, or catch up if you missed the previous content session.

In this session, I'll be answering any questions you have on the content covered so far in "Heart of Algebra" over the last two sessions. This will probably be a shorter (i.e. 45 minute) session, but can definitely be extended to an hour if more help is needed. As I've mentioned before, you can join to simply work on the homework itself and ask questions along the way; you don't need to come with questions already in mind (though that would always be helpful!) Additionally, if you'd like to get a bit ahead, I'm more than happy to teach you about harder absolute value-related questions (which is the only little bit left to do in Heart of Algebra - then we can move onto the next topic!) Of course, if you miss this session, no worries - I'll still cover the last part of absolute value in the next session.

In this session, we'll mainly go over absolute value. Yes, I know that's from "Heart of Algebra". But if you attended my session yesterday, you'll know that many of y'all struggled with the absolute value questions I assigned y'all (which is totally fine and expected - I made the questions difficult on purpose to ensure you guys don't trip up on the latter SAT Math questions near the end of a paper!) So, I've decided to dedicate a good chunk of this session towards really diving into this topic such that you guys feel better about the content. Next, we'll go over the second part of the math principles in "Passport to Advanced Mathematics" (which makes up 28% of the test as per College Board, hence splitting it across three sessions due to the harder content covered; I'd say it's the hardest part, in fact) alongside some practice questions from previous SAT Math exams. As usual, I'll get you guys to work through questions at the beginning of class to get an idea of where we stand currently on the new topics and go from there. Additionally, if you feel confident about absolute value already, please message me prior to/during the lesson and I'll get you guys to work on questions from "Passport to Advanced Math", for which I'll check your responses along the way.

In this session, we'll go over the last content aspect of this SAT Math camp: "Additional Topics in Math". This mainly deals with the geometric questions y'all will get in both the Regular and Digital SAT formats. I'll probably finish these remaining topics quickly, so we might then get a chance to do a 25 minute full SAT Non Calculator math practice test. I'll administer this by Google Forms and then share your results with you to show what score you would get in this section (and yes, it will be timed.) If we don't have time for this, the activity will be moved to our final lesson of the camp - the day after. As usual, I'll get you guys to work through questions at the beginning of class to get an idea of where we stand currently on the topics and go from there on the new topic.

In this longer-than-usual session (as it will be probably the final one), we will do a full run-through of the SAT Math sections - calculator and non-calculator - via practice tests with a Google Forms I will create and publish. This will then allow you to do a full content review of everything we've covered so far. The reason I say "probably" for it being the last session is because I might launch one 30 minute one the day afterwards to review common errors across the practice tests. But this is TBD depending on time available and necessity for students.
