About

Digital SAT Math: Exploiting Desmos to save a LOT of time! :D The dSAT has Desmos built-in, and it helped me get a perfect SAT Math score. Desmos can do insane stuff quickly and easily - it almost feels like cheating when you know what it can do :3 After an intro to Desmos & graphing, and its integration in the dSAT app, we'll cover using Desmos to solve dSAT questions that need you to: - Determine the equation of a line or parabola given a set of points (regression) - Evaluate functions - Solve an equation for a variable - Solve systems of linear equations, inequalities, or quadratics - Find the zeros of a quadratic/polynomial equation - Answer exponential growth/decay questions - Solve scatterplot & lines of best-fit questions - Find the midpoint or distance between 2 points without the formulae - Find the mean or median of a set of numbers - Convert decimal numbers to fractions - Easily solve percentage questions - Find the slope & intercepts of any line I'll also share practice problems for you to solve using Desmos and discuss. Don't worry if you've never used Desmos before - I'll cover every ground. And if you're already a Desmos geek, I'm still certain you'll still learn something useful here :)

Hi :) A rising high school junior here! I’m a platform-agnostic tech geek who’s ecstatic about building PCs, modding tech, coding, gaming, and VR :3 I love philosophy, literature, science & the scientific method, pedagogy, and math :] The prospect of enabling accessible education inspires me - it’d be my pleasure to patiently help you learn :D I love to emphasize that it's not your fault if you haven't understood something - no question is too 'dumb' to ask, and I don't mind going over whatever you find challenging in detail until you get it! :)

Schedule

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

There'll be 2 sessions: one this Saturday and the next this Sunday, both at the same times.

The first session is an intro to Desmos and the world of graphing, along with the more conventional ways you could use Desmos to solve dSAT questions (check out the session's description).

If you're already somewhat of a Desmos guru, feel free to skip this one! (but DM me if you chose to skip this so I'd know how many learners to expect).

The second session covers much cooler things you can do (like regression and other interesting Desmos features) to help you solve many dSAT questions really quickly & easily.

Don't miss this session! :)

SESSION 1

SAT Math

SAT Math

Sat 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM UTCJun 17, 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM UTC

This session will cover an intro to Desmos & graphing, and its integration in the dSAT app. I'll understand everyone's individual familiarity with Desmos and graphing in general, and help everyone get on the same page. Then, I'll demonstrate how you use just Desmos to quickly & easily solve dSAT questions that need you to: - Find the slope & intercepts of any line, or the zeros of a quadratic/polynomial equation - Solve systems of linear equations, inequalities, or quadratics - Solve an equation for a variable - Answer exponential growth/decay questions. I'll also share similar dSAT questions that you'll solve using Desmos to practice :)

SESSION 2

SAT Math

Sun 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM UTCJun 18, 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM UTC

This session covers more intriguing and useful ways that Desmos can help you on the SAT (tips and the lesser-known stuff :) I'll demonstrate how you use just Desmos to quickly & easily solve dSAT questions that need you to: - Evaluate functions - Find the midpoint or distance between 2 points without the formulae - Find the mean or median of a set of numbers - Convert decimal numbers to fractions - Easily solve percentage questions - Determine the equation of a line or parabola given a set of points (regression) - Solve scatterplot & lines of best-fit questions. Again, I'll also share similar dSAT questions that you'll solve using Desmos to practice (:
