About

Each week, we will go through an Algebra 1 unit (this is our target, but we may do more or less depending on how you all do). We will go through a slide deck explaining the concepts and then reinforce them with Khan Academy practice. Obviously there won't be homework, but I will give assessments for you to complete so you can evaluate your own progress (only for you)!

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

This class is for your benefit, and it is impressive that you are motivated to do it. There are no rules regarding attendance, but please message me if you can't make a session - that will make it easier for me to help you later on!

THIS IS PART I. We will go over an introductory slide deck about the course overview and how I will conduct my lessons. We'll also go over some safety rules (about behaving appropriately and being respectful).

Session 2

Orientation

THIS IS PART II. We will complete a pretest so that you can see where you at. Even if you get all the questions wrong, that's fine, because we will learn all of that later on. The point is to set a benchmark so you can see how much you have learned when the series ends.

Session 3

Algebra foundations

We’ll go over algebra foundations on Khan Academy. No need for a calculator or even paper or pencil, though you might want a paper and pencil if you aren’t comfortable with arithmetic.
