About

Hi, my name is Peighton, and this is my first time being a Schoolhouse.world tutor. I'm thrilled to tutor you all and help you ace/improve your scores for the December 2024 SAT exam! I live in Arizona and my favorite pastime activities are playing the piano, drawing comics, and crocheting.

In this 4-week bootcamp series, we will be reviewing basic math concepts that will be covered in the Math section of the SAT, which include algebra, advanced math, problem solving & data analysis, and geometry & trigonometry. As a group, we will be completing practice SAT exams while also learning and reviewing SAT topics and questions from past exams. Since it's a small group, I expect everyone to be able to interact with one another to improve their SAT skills, eventually building enough confidence to take the test by storm! Before we begin, make sure to turn your cameras on at all times to help me get to know you better as a learner. If you have reasons to not turn them on during class, please notify me ahead of time. Happy learning!

This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Math. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please do not miss more than one session over the four weeks, as that will negatively affect your learning and may also take up a spot from another learner who could have attended every session.

If you reach two unexcused absences, your tutor may remove you from this series.

Note from Schoolhouse: This series has sessions with required attendance. If you need to miss a required session, submit an absence using the "Submit Excused Absence" button on the series page. Multiple unexcused absences may lead to a suspension of your Schoolhouse account.

We will go over some testing strategies for taking the digital SAT and you will have the opportunity to take a full practice test on the Bluebook platform.

You'll have some time to review and reflect on your results from the Bluebook practice exam. Then, we will review questions you'd like to go over and end with group practice of two Focus Skills in the Geometry & Trigonometry Domain.

We'll spend time reviewing all of the previous Focus Skills we covered together. To end the session (and the bootcamp!), we'll wrap up everything and provide some final words of advice/encouragement.
