About

This College Admissions Workshop on The Essay is a virtual 4-week workshop designed to provide you with structure and support to write your college essays this summer.

In this workshop, you will:
*Learn the purpose and the must-dos of the personal statement
*Learn and practice strategies for picking a prompt, brainstorming, drafting, and revising your writing
*Understand the role of supplemental questions and strategies for organizing your questions and responses
*Work alongside other students who are also preparing to apply to college.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please do not miss more than one session over the four weeks, as that will negatively affect your learning and may also take up a spot from another learner who could have attended every session. If you reach two unexcused absences, your tutor may remove you from this series.

Note from Schoolhouse: This series has sessions with required attendance. If you need to miss a required session, submit an absence using the "Submit Excused Absence" button on the series page. Multiple unexcused absences may lead to a suspension of your Schoolhouse account.

About the Tutor

Hi! I am a recent high school graduate, and I will be attending Caltech (California Institute of Technology) for the next 4 years. I am really excited to help other students navigate their college admissions process smoothly, as schoolhouse helped with mine during my senior year. I also want to foster a love for math and physics by tutoring them because they are my favorite subjects, mostly physics and astronomy, which have brought me some medals in their Olympiads (USAAAO). Just as I helped my high school students participate in these Olympiads over the past 3 years, I really am excited to see if I can go beyond my high school and help students all over the world!
