About

Hi learners! In this series, we will start by discussing how the internet works and how websites are developed. You will be able to develop your own personalized website in a safe and controlled environment using HTML and CSS, the languages used for making websites! We will explore how to add text, images, links, lists, videos, and more! We'll also discuss how websites are launched to the public and how search engines work, including domain registration, DNS, and SEO. At the end of this series, if you desire, we'll walk you through how to launch your website so that anyone may access it on the Web! No programming experience is required.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please try to make all the sessions if you wish to make a complete website, considering we will build on top of your work from previous lessons. However, you'll still be able to deploy your website if you have any type of HTML file, and you can always just follow along!

About the Tutor

Hello, I'm a high school student from Long Island, New York who loves programming and electrical engineering, as well as playing the cello and erhu. From a very young age, I've been interested in CS and EE topics. Through self-studying programming concepts through a variety of books, I developed my skill and was able to self-study for both AP Computer Science exams. I'm the founder of my school's Cybersecurity Club and compete in various cybersecurity and programming competitions, such as CyberStart, Capture-the-flag, and ACSL. I'm also proficient in full-stack development on various platforms and have demonstrated competency through developing multiple complex projects, including involving the use of AI to achieve multiple awards at high school and collegiate hackathons. I have also presented my engineering projects at regional and state level science fairs. Finally, in school I enjoy learning physics, history, and math, and would love to share my knowledge with others through tutoring all sorts of subjects on this platform. SAT: 1570 (780RW, 790M) PSAT: 1520 APs: CSA (5), CSP (5), Bio (5), World (5), USH (5), Physics 1 (5), English Language (5) GIAC: GFACT Certified National Cyber Scholar (awarded by National Cybersecurity Scholarship Foundation) American Computer Science League (ACSL) Competition Finalist (Senior Division)
