About

Hello everyone, I know many of you love reading comics and manga and maybe dreamed of making one yourself but are unsure how. Well, that's what we'll be doing through July, and if there's interest in August too! We'll start with the idea, showing some different comic/manga examples, then we'll be writing a little description of our comic, we'll be making our characters, personalities, character sheets+expressions, and afterward we'll make the cover, sketches and by the end, we'll make a fully digital 5-page comic as a start. I'm really excited about this, and I can't wait to meet you all too!

Tutor Qualifications

I've been a digital artist for years now and wrote comics for fun many times, so I'd say I'm pretty qualified to teach this. Also, I'm a webtoon comic artist. I had a digital art series here on SHW before too!

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

You can skip it if you have some other work and excuses of course, but I'd highly recommend you don't miss much as we won't be able to go back much as we have a strict outline to follow!

I'm a senior in a maths high school. I love everything math and science-related so I'd love to tutor you guys! I'm confident in tutoring middle school students and Algebra I and Geometry! I also would love to tutor science, computer science, and maybe even psychology too! I also really love arts, reading, and writing!

Hello everyone, welcome! I'm very happy to see you all here! In the first session, we'll all introduce ourselves and our favorite comics. We'll also discuss the ideas we have for our ideal comics, and I'll show you mine I'm working on!

Welcome back! Now that we have some idea of what our comic will be like so now we can start writing a little synopsis/blurb about what and who the comic will be about, and share our wild ideas with each other. I'll show fun ways we can come up with ideas through different methods and lists!

Today we have character design!!!! Yay, definitely my favorite part. We'll brainstorm what our characters will look like, what they'll be like and draw them in different positions and emotions. Because we're making a comic these drawing will be extra handy and important later on!

Today after we got a pretty good idea on our characters we got to build the world our characters will be living in. Is it a city, a town, a fantasy land, a castle etc. We get to build many backdrops that will be useful later on in our stories. So be extra creative in this one!

Today we have a free-ride and fun session where we will share our ideas with each other and write the script of the first 5 pages on paper so we know what we'll be illustrating for the following sessions. Please join in and enjoy the time!

Now that we have a pretty good idea of what our comic will consist of if it is a story, a joke, a meme, or whatever else, and what our characters, scenery, and script will be like we can start doing the sketches and the positions each panel will be. If we want a page a panel (Webtoon style) or more of a classic comic style with many divisions. This will be a pretty important part of making a comic as things are starting to get together and our comic is making sense. We're halfway through our camp! Woo-hoo!!!
