About

Hi! My name is Alvina and I'm really excited to be your math tutor for the SAT. 
﻿
This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Math. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You'll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it's a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can't have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

I'm a high school student from Washington and I took the December SAT and did fairly well. I can help with any math subject up to Algebra 2. My hobbies include drawing, piano, and playing tennis. I'm hoping that as I can help others, others can help me to! My strong suite is math, but I'm also interested in improving my writing skills. I am also interested in computer science, so it would be really cool if I could learn more about that.

To get the most out of this series and respect other learners, follow these attendance rules:

You can only miss one unexcused session over the four weeks. Missing more can impact your learning and may take a spot from another learner who wants to join.

Need to miss a session? Let your tutor know by using the "Submit excused absence" button on the series page. Then, catch up by using the Session Makeup Guide or attending a live make-up session.

Multiple unexcused absences? If you reach two unexcused absences, you may be removed from the series and your Schoolhouse account may be suspended.

We'll start with an orientation to get to know each other. Then, we will work through a shortened practice exam and review questions you'd like to go over. To wrap up the session, we'll go over some testing tips.
