About
Hi! I'm Dylan (he/him) and I've put together some of the most important applications of calculus for STEM fields. It will be mostly basic engineering but also some other fields as well. The minimum prerequisites for this class are a solid understanding of limits, derivatives, and integrals. It will be helpful to have taken Calculus AB and a semester of Calculus BC. Here's some of the stuff we'll cover (in no particular order though 1 and 2 are particularly important):
1. Acceleration, velocity, and position
2. Basic differential equations and force
3. Work
4. Area and volume
5. Probability & Gaussian distribution
6. Arcs
7. Modeling population and dynamic systems with differential equations
8. Springs
Note that I may have left out some stuff that may be taught in a calculus course you are taking. Come to office hours if you have questions about these!!!
I will also leave some time for students to discuss any sort of AB/BC calculus topic every week. This class is so that you can succeed at what is considered by most to be the hardest part of calculus.
Fill out the form in public discussion if you would like to join.
✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY
The curriculum is not necessarily cumulative, but you should come to the first few sessions (vector calculus, force, and basic differential equations) as they will be especially important.
