About

We'll go through the basics of learning how to crochet. By the end of this series, I'm hoping that each of us can successfully crochet a tote bag and donate crocheted baby hats to local hospitals/institutions!

Tutor Qualifications

I've been crocheting since the beginning of 2023, and I've made tote bags, baby hats, and I'm currently making a cardigan! I usually donate most of the baby hats I make to my local hospital, so I'm hoping that if we make baby hats, we can all donate them :)

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please try not to miss any sessions, especially the first few that go over the fundamentals of crocheting. If you do, let me know ASAP so I can catch you up on what you missed.

Session 1

Orientation

Hi! Welcome to the Crochet Club. We'll be going over the basic rules and expectations of the club, do some icebreakers to get to know each other, and discuss which materials are best to work with. Then, we can get started with learning how to crochet. It would be super helpful if you had your crocheting materials ahead of time, so we can get right into crocheting! Please note that I will be using US crochet terms. *Materials* Crocheting hook, yarn, a pair of scissors, and a darning needle - For beginners, I would recommend a 4.5-5.5mm hook (I like using the 5mm one), and the corresponding yarn. - As a baseline, these items cost me about $10, but feel free to buy or use whatever materials you see fit!
