About

The purpose of this approximately 4-6 week series is for me, as a 5 scorer on the AP Calculus AB exam (taking BC this year as a class, self-studied content last year, and now self-studying some multivariable calculus), to help you better understand all the mathematical knowledge and skills you need to know for success in the AP Calculus class, exam and beyond - regardless of where you are currently in your preparation! Just starting to prepare for taking AP Calculus AB/BC next year? Great! Come join me as we delve into topic-by-topic sessions on all of the calculus (and precalculus - which I'll review briefly where needed as well) skills, tips, and tricks you need to achieve your desired score. Already learned some AP Calculus content in the class you're taking this year and/or feel like you'd benefit from some guidance? Well, you've come to the right place. With many resources on hand (including notes and many topic-by-topic/full practice question sources), I'll do my best to help guide you through this journey. No prior knowledge of calculus is required - it's completely open to anyone from beginners to those who just want to refresh/recap their skills. And yes, if all you need is some more resources to get you going in the right direction, this is the right place for you as well! Full Disclosure: the reason I didn't take AP Calculus BC last year as a class was due to a scheduling conflict that took place with a compulsory history class at my school. Just wanted to get that out of the way for any skeptics out here! High school senior in Texas (from India, grew up in Singapore) with a deep passion for math, computer science, and their relations with other STEM fields. Outside of school, I enjoy pursuing interdisciplinary research projects, participating in FIRST robotics competitions, debating in the World Schools format, and programming using a variety of languages (Python, C++, and JavaScript being my favorites). Having recently worked as a STEM-oriented volunteer tutor for various organizations in Singapore and India, I'm excited to join Schoolhouse and continue this journey of giving back to the community. Here, I'll be explaining what limits exactly are as a concept, then providing relevant practice questions to get you guys going. I'll also provide more detailed class descriptions in the near future, alongside confirming dates for future sessions within the coming days. Due to my research and extracurricular commitments (alongside the college application process), I am quite busy these days, meaning it takes me a while to schedule things in advance. I do check DMs decently often, though, so if you have questions please feel free to ask!

Note that this session will be more problem-solving based (though I do always ensure that, after some explanation, I get my students to answer questions I give along the way to ensure the lesson is as interactive as I can make it.) I'll also share more specific exam techniques relevant to derivatives. Note that these content descriptions are for now; I'm always willing to move further ahead or slow down a bit depending on the class's preference.
