Schoolhouse MUN 2026 - WHO Committee

    Starts

Welcome to the World Health Organization committee sessions of the Schoolhouse Model United Nations 2026! Schoolhouse MUN is an online Model United Nations event organized by a team of volunteers from schoolhouse.world. Delegates will have the opportunity to represent different countries in four distinct committees of the United Nations. This experience will enhance their understanding of current world issues and improve their public speaking, collaboration, and leadership skills. Agenda: Discussing the Legality of Medical Advertisements Made Directly to Consumers Developing a cohesive international response to direct-to-consumer marketing of over-the-counter, prescription, and integrative medicines and medications. Chairs: Claire A, Mattis L, and Akshath K Overview of the Committee’s Agenda: A trillion-dollar industry is marketing its wares--but does it put our health at risk? Should pharmaceutical companies and pharmacies be allowed to advertise directly to consumers, and how? This fascinating issue is yours to tackle, delegates! Direct-to-consumer advertising of medicines is a hugely influential force on medical decision-making and the wider healthcare market. Such advertisements can increase patients’ awareness of cutting-edge drugs and allow research companies to profit from them, powering future investments. Yet, these advertisements can also lead to bad prescriptions, encourage the use of overpriced name-brand drugs, and misguide patients. While most nations have banned direct-to-consumer advertising for prescription drugs, questions of enforcement remain. Beyond prescription medications, you will also encounter over-the-counter medications, traditional therapies, and supplements. These medicines will spark captivating questions of their own. Delegates, your responsibility is to craft creative guidelines for direct-to-consumer advertising, dealing with the realities of each nation while pursuing a unified strategy. Are you ready to address the advertisements? Please make sure to also register for the main series: [https://schoolhouse.world/series/76738](https://schoolhouse.world/series/76738)[](https://schoolhouse.world/series/76738) Please note that each delegate must attend a minimum of three committee sessions to be eligible for a participation certificate. You are also welcome to join as an audience member!

NASA Committee - Schoolhouse MUN 2026

    Starts

Welcome to the NASA Committee sessions for the Schoolhouse Model United Nations 2026! Schoolhouse MUN is an online Model United Nations event organized by a team of volunteers from Schoolhouse.world. Delegates will have the opportunity to represent different countries in six distinct committees of the United Nations. This experience will enhance their understanding of current world issues and improve their public speaking, collaboration, and leadership skills. Agenda: Developing Human Safety Protocols for Space Launches, Voyages, and Reentry (Set in 1961) Chairs: Siddh S, Amrita N Overview of the Committee’s Agenda: The Space Race of 1961: arguably one of the most pivotal events in human history. It was an event that turned outer space from an unexplored dreamscape to a battlefield of bitter competition, namely between the Soviet Union and the United States. In this fierce quest to establish dominance in the celestial realm, however, many lives were lost. Astronauts on both ends were placed in dangerous conditions, what with space travel still being revolutionized and optimized, and many lives became statistics for the losses that both nations faced, as the price for being some of the first countries to trek outside the Earth’s atmosphere. The nations found themselves struggling to ensure the safety of human lives while balancing the need to expand the bounds of their scientific knowledge. Delegates, your task is to create an agreed-upon proposal of policies that will optimize human welfare and safety while venturing into outer space. Collaborate with one another based on your nation’s policies and viewpoints to allow humanity to continue their exploration. Will you be the one to take a leap, not just for your nation, but for mankind? --- Please note that each delegate must attend a minimum of three committee sessions to be eligible for a participation certificate. You are also welcome to join as an audience member! We look forward to your participation! Main Series: [https://schoolhouse.world/series/76738](https://schoolhouse.world/series/76738)

UNESCO Committee - Schoolhouse MUN 2026

    Starts

Welcome to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization sessions of the Schoolhouse Model United Nations 2026! Schoolhouse MUN is an online Model United Nations event organized by a team of volunteers from schoolhouse.world. Delegates will have the opportunity to represent different countries in five distinct committees of the United Nations. This experience will enhance their understanding of current world issues and improve their public speaking, collaboration, and leadership skills. Agenda: Addressing the Global Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Employment and Education Formulating a unified global strategy to manage the implications of artificial intelligence for the workforce and learning institutions Chairs: Hafsah M and Sarah W Overview of the Committee’s Agenda: 1956: the year Artificial Intelligence is born, in a workshop at Dartmouth. Fast forward to the 2020s, where unprecedented growth is now being made in the field, from the launch of ChatGPT by OpenAI leading to frequent AI usage in daily life to the development of generative AI technologies that can create images indistinguishable from real life. Naturally, AI has rapidly emerged as one of the most pressing topics discussed on the global stage. AI has the ability to reshape everything around us — economies, societies and our whole world. In the UNESCO committee, we will assess two of the aspects that AI has the potential to severely impact (and in fact, has already been impacting) — employment and education. We will discuss how AI has been affecting and reshaping global employment access - is it leading to unemployment crises or generating more jobs? And education - we’ll consider questions such as how AI should be used in education, and how it is currently impacting students’ academic lives. Ultimately, AI is a tool whose impact depends on the way it’s used. If wielded properly, it can lead to great strides made in society; on the other hand, if it isn’t, the downsides can vastly outweigh the positives, potentially leading to massive upheaval in various sectors. Thus, it is up to you, dear delegate, to explore this important subject and create frameworks that properly regulate AI. Action must be taken - not in the future, but now, in the present. Delegates, are you ready to tackle this topic before it’s too late? UNGA Committee - Schoolhouse MUN 2026

    Starts

Welcome to the United Nations General Assembly Committee sessions for the Schoolhouse Model United Nations 2026! Agenda: Addressing the security implications of cyber warfare and cyber terrorism. Chairs: Aadiv S and Dylan Overview of the Committee’s Agenda: Cyber warfare and cyber terrorism have transformed cyberspace into a new and unpredictable battlefield, where a single line of code can disrupt hospitals, paralyze economies, or undermine democratic institutions. These threats transcend borders and blur the line between war and peace, as both state and non-state actors exploit anonymity to carry out attacks with limited accountability. The growing dependence of societies on digital infrastructure means that cyber attacks no longer affect only governments, but directly endanger civilians and global stability. To confront this challenge, the international community must move beyond fragmented responses toward collective action. Delegates are called upon to actively engage in shaping clear norms for responsible state behavior, strengthening international cooperation, and supporting capacity-building initiatives for vulnerable states. Through meaningful dialogue, innovative resolutions, and a shared commitment to upholding international law in cyberspace, this committee has the opportunity—and responsibility—to safeguard global security in the digital age. Delegates, are you ready to take this responsibility? Main Series: https://schoolhouse.world/series/76738 Please note that each delegate must attend a minimum of three committee sessions to be eligible for a participation certificate. You are also welcome to join as an audience member! We look forward to your participation!
