Hey there, I'm Sarah!! I'm certified in most topics on Schoolhouse, but I'm especially experienced with SAT RW and Math, Calculus (I scored a 5 on the AP Calc BC exam and am currently taking Multivariable Calculus), and Algebra 2. I also chaired for the last two Schoolhouse MUNs! I'm a high school senior in Tennessee, and I love music. I play both the piano and the violin, but I also love listening to a wide array of music (some of my favorites are More by Carly Rae Jepsen and SOS by Balming Tiger). I'm also passionate about figure skating, fashion, the environment, math, and law, to name a few.
Thanks for the session! It was fun to learn with sarah. Discussing questions before reaching the answer really helps the conceptual understanding and understand reasoning behind it. Sarah explained things pretty well with graphs and examples. It was great!

Sarah was attentive to the learner’s level of understanding and adjusted her pacing accordingly. When the learner showed uncertainty with factoring, she simplified the example and provided additional context before returning to the main problem. This adjustment helped reinforce key concepts and prevented confusion. Her flexibility and awareness of the learner’s needs were evident throughout the session.

Sarah came well-prepared and ran the session efficiently. She explained the steps for multiplying and dividing rational expressions with clarity and accuracy. Her examples were purposeful and aligned well with the topic. When the learner struggled with domain restrictions, Sarah broke down the concept step by step and clarified why certain values make the denominator zero. Her explanations demonstrated a strong grasp of the material and a consistent focus on conceptual understanding rather than memorization.
