About

Hey everyone! I am Hafsah, a rising junior in high school from India, taking advanced-level coursework in school.

I'm really passionate about anything related to cognitive science, math, CS, philosophy and linguistics. In my free time, I love to read, ski, research on random topics that catch my interest, do some cooking and learn new languages. I'm also a huge speech and debate enthusiast - I started participating in 4th grade and have never stopped since!

I've taken the Digital SAT, with a superscore of 1530 (750 R&W, 780 Math).

I'd be happy to help out with anything related to Math (from Pre-Algebra to Calculus), Science, Computer Science or SAT Prep.

Excited to be a tutor here at schoolhouse, and I look forward to seeing you in my sessions!

Upcoming Sessions

Impromptu 101 and Extempore TEDxSchoolhouse 4.0

    2nd session

Hey everyone! Following the success of previous series, I’m really excited to bring back another edition of my Extempore TEDxSchoohouse series - welcome to the Extempore TEDx Talks 4.0 and Impromptu 101🎉! In this series, we’ll start with the basics of impromptu/extempore speaking and then, we’ll be having sessions where you will get the chance to test out and improve your skills in extempore talks as well as pick up tips to do well in speaking impromptu. IMPROMPTU 101 In the first few sessions, we’ll be going through the basics of impromptu speaking and we’ll also go through some tips to be a good impromptu speaker to set ourselves up for success when you get the chance to speak! HOW EXTEMPORE TED TALKS WORK In extempore TEDx Talks, you are randomly given a topic to speak on and given 60 seconds to gather your thoughts, after which you are given 4 minutes to speak along with an additional extra one minute if needed. But don’t worry, we won’t give you just 1 minute to think right from our first session. Since we also want to include beginners and help you improve your skills, we’ll start out with 3 minutes, and gradually decrease the thinking time until it reaches 1 minute. WHO CAN PARTICIPATE If you have vast experience in extempore talks and just want to brush up your skills and take part, or if you’re a complete beginner looking to start out, the series is for you! Anyone who’s interested can take part, regardless of your experience. If you’re a bit shy and worried about not doing well, don’t worry, we’re all here to learn and the only way we can learn is by practising! Note: I have kept the sessions at times to accommodate as many time zones as I can. If the timings of the sessions don’t work for you, please let me know and I’ll try my best to host a session at a time that’ll work for you.

Affirmative Action Dialogue Session

    Starts

Welcome to [Dialogues](https://schoolhouse.world/dialogues)! In this session, we will be discussing Affirmative Action and using this [[](https://schoolhouse.world/redirect?code=t-qtcw52abrucXMqcI67W)[https://drive.google.com/file/d/14st9nnjZuSQCXl96DE1-CJ-m4Q8svsnj/view](https://schoolhouse.world/redirect?code=t-qtcw52abrucXMqcI67W)]. Here’s some helpful information to help you prepare for your session: 📌 Session introduction: At the start of the session, the event host will provide some introductory remarks about how the session will work and tips for discussion. 🧩 Discussion partner matching: All participants will be matched with a conversation partner to discuss with. If there are uneven numbers, you may have two conversation partners. 🤝 Breakout discussions: After the session introduction, everyone will switch to their breakout discussion. Your discussion will be unmoderated, so you can start when your partner arrives in the new Zoom link. 🗺️ Discussion Guide: You will have a topic-specific discussion guide for the session to help guide conversation. ⏰ Session length: The breakout discussions are scheduled for 45 minutes but you can discuss as long as you want! ✅ Stay on topic: Please make sure to stay on topic. If you and your partner run out of things to discuss, it’s okay to end the discussion early. You will not be returning to the main group when your conversation is over. 🤔 Make the discussion your own: You probably won’t have time to answer all the guide questions so pick and choose! Feel free to also bring in your own questions and ideas outside of the guide. 📝 Survey: A mandatory survey will appear at the end of your session to fill out. This must be filled out for you to get credit for the session in your Dialogues portfolio. 🤸‍♂️ Have fun: There is no preparation needed for this event. These conversations are meant to be casual, in addition to being meaningful. We hope you enjoy it!
