✨📚Study Space for Music Enthusiasts!🎧🎶

    46th session

Welcome!! We will study together using the Pomodoro technique (25 minutes of work and 5 minutes of break)! 🍅 In addition to studying, every week at the end of the session on Sunday, I'll feature a song of the week, where I'll present a song, after which we can discuss it:). There will also be a form for learners to suggest songs that they either want me to present or want to present themselves, so there may be songs of the week on some Wednesdays or Thursdays too! 🎵 During the 25 minutes of work, we will all stay on mute; I will also not be playing music during the work period, since each person likely has different preferences for music during studying. Turning your video on is completely optional but suggested as a way for you to really concentrate on your work. 🧠 During breaks, we'll unmute and chat about what we did in the past 25 minutes to foster a productive and encouraging environment! 🌱 Activities that participants can do during sessions are not restricted to just studying, as long as participants are not scrolling on Instagram or the like; these activities can be anything that you consider productive, from planning activities for your school club to finally practicing your instrument because your lesson is tomorrow! 🎻 I am certified in many different topics, but for the sake of maintaining a study space where everyone can concentrate on what they are doing, please do not ask any work-related questions in the session. Instead, the Schoolhouse.world subworld help channels are always a great place for you to get help with your questions! 😊 Sessions will not be scheduled too far into the future to avoid running into unforeseeable scheduling conflicts.

UNESCO Committee - Schoolhouse MUN 2026

    Starts

Welcome to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization sessions of the Schoolhouse Model United Nations 2026! Schoolhouse MUN is an online Model United Nations event organized by a team of volunteers from schoolhouse.world. Delegates will have the opportunity to represent different countries in five distinct committees of the United Nations. This experience will enhance their understanding of current world issues and improve their public speaking, collaboration, and leadership skills. Agenda: Addressing the Global Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Employment and Education Formulating a unified global strategy to manage the implications of artificial intelligence for the workforce and learning institutions Chairs: Hafsah M and Sarah W Overview of the Committee’s Agenda: 1956: the year Artificial Intelligence is born, in a workshop at Dartmouth. Fast forward to the 2020s, where unprecedented growth is now being made in the field, from the launch of ChatGPT by OpenAI leading to frequent AI usage in daily life to the development of generative AI technologies that can create images indistinguishable from real life. Naturally, AI has rapidly emerged as one of the most pressing topics discussed on the global stage. AI has the ability to reshape everything around us — economies, societies and our whole world. In the UNESCO committee, we will assess two of the aspects that AI has the potential to severely impact (and in fact, has already been impacting) — employment and education. We will discuss how AI has been affecting and reshaping global employment access - is it leading to unemployment crises or generating more jobs? And education - we’ll consider questions such as how AI should be used in education, and how it is currently impacting students’ academic lives. Ultimately, AI is a tool whose impact depends on the way it’s used. If wielded properly, it can lead to great strides made in society; on the other hand, if it isn’t, the downsides can vastly outweigh the positives, potentially leading to massive upheaval in various sectors. Thus, it is up to you, dear delegate, to explore this important subject and create frameworks that properly regulate AI. Action must be taken - not in the future, but now, in the present. Delegates, are you ready to tackle this topic before it’s too late? Main Series: https://schoolhouse.world/series/76738 Please note that each delegate must attend a minimum of three committee sessions to be eligible for a participation certificate. You are also welcome to join as an audience member!

Schoolhouse MUN 2025 - UNCSW Committee

    Ended Sun, Aug 17, 2025

Welcome to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women committee sessions of the Schoolhouse Model United Nations 2025! Agenda: Identifying and combatting gender apartheid and the systemic segregation of women Investigating gender apartheid, its impact, and the ways through which it is facilitated, and creating strategies to counter the oppression of women across the world Chair: Sarah W Overview of the Committee’s Agenda: Banned from public spaces. Prohibited from most job opportunities. Forbidden from pursuing an education at a higher level. These are only some of the countless injustices that women still face in certain parts of the world today. Despite the many advances that have been made as society has progressed, gender inequality still runs rampant all over the world in ways big and small. Although in some places it’s subtle, an undercurrent of society, in others it’s systemic, embedded into the law. Enforced by those in power, those who should be upholding the responsibility of maintaining the wellbeing of their people. This is gender apartheid, gender-based economic and social discrimination enforced through physical and legal practices, and its impact is devastating, affecting mental health and economies and so much more. The world cannot stand by and watch as gender apartheid continues to oppress women; we must take action. Your responsibility, dear delegate, is to investigate the reach of gender apartheid across the world, and to engage in thoughtful debate in the pursuit of creating solutions to this debilitating crisis. In the words of Agnès Callamard, Amnesty International’s Secretary General, “no one should ever be permitted to violate, segregate, silence or exclude people because of their gender.” Action must be taken, and it must be taken now. Delegates, are you ready to bring justice to the women shackled by the chains of gender apartheid? Main series: https://schoolhouse.world/series/55560 Please note that each delegate must attend a minimum of three committee sessions to be eligible for a participation certificate. You are also welcome to join as an audience member!

Schoolhouse Fall MUN 2024 - UNSC Committee

    Ended Sun, Nov 17, 2024

Welcome to the United Nations Security Council Committee sessions for the Schoolhouse Fall Model United Nations 2024! Agenda: Addressing the Crisis in Afghanistan: Security and Humanitarian Solutions Developing comprehensive strategies for stabilizing Afghanistan and addressing the humanitarian crisis. Chairs: Sarah W & Rivi K Overview of the Committee’s Agenda: A deeply scarred nation now faces an unfolding humanitarian disaster threatening millions of lives. At this very moment, over half of the population of Afghanistan, around 23.7 million Afghans, is in dire need of humanitarian assistance and protection. With Afghanistan’s infrastructure fragile and security stretched thin, every decision is urgent. Worse, at a time when it is more necessary than ever, international aid is diminishing, further escalating the crisis for civilians who depend on it for survival. Can the global community stabilize Afghanistan without jeopardizing regional security? Can humanitarian efforts be scaled without fueling extremism? With a primary goal of both maintaining and restoring international peace and security, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) was formed to address crises such as this. Delegates, as members of the UNSC, you are tasked with balancing immediate aid initiatives with long-term stability. Will your solutions help restore hope, or will the country spiral further into uncertainty? For more than four decades, Afghans have continued to face displacement, unable to return to their homes due to the continuous conflict that their country has faced. Through collaboration and problem-solving, you have the power to help bring peace to this nation that has suffered for far too long. Are you ready to redefine the world’s role in Afghanistan? Main Series: [https://schoolhouse.world/series/28597](https://schoolhouse.world/series/28597) Please note that each delegate must attend a minimum of three committee sessions to be eligible for a participation certificate.
