This series is for you. Join this series full of experienced tutors 🏋️‍♀️ who have competed in international math competitions and are here to help you 🫵 . This group will work to prepare for any math competition that is coming up. From there, we would have multiple activities including but not limited to, mock tests for competitions, try-outs for certain events, weekly or bi-weekly in-house math competitions, and we will even touch on advanced topics that only apply to math-competitions. Welcome to the WHO committee sessions of the Schoolhouse Fall MUN 2024! Schoolhouse MUN is an online Model United Nations event organized by a team of volunteers from schoolhouse.world. Delegates will have the opportunity to represent different countries in five distinct committees of the United Nations. This experience will enhance their understanding of current world issues and improve their public speaking, collaboration, and leadership skills. Agenda: Global Health Security: Preparedness for Future Pandemics Developing comprehensive strategies for global health security, including early warning systems, rapid response mechanisms, and international collaboration to prevent and mitigate future pandemics. Chairs: Anastasia M and Aarav T Overview of the Committee’s Agenda: Recently, the world has witnessed the significantly devastating impact of global health crises, as pandemics can negatively affect healthcare systems, destroy economies, and cause millions of deaths. There is a significant need for global health security. Countries worldwide face unique and shared challenges in pandemic preparedness. Our committee will focus on strengthening global health security to prepare for future pandemics. Our agenda will include discussing the implementation of early warning systems, increasing rapid response abilities, fostering global cooperation. Pandemics know no borders. Thus, it is important for various nations to coordinate resources, share information, and support one another, so that they can protect public health all around the world. Delegates, your responsibility is to explore the challenges of global health security: the steps we can take to better prepare for the pandemic, what roles the nations and organizations play, and what are the essential steps to for a resilient global response framework.
