You perfectly used the names of the methods that the learners are going to use to solve the problem. This means that you knew how to categorize each question into their different methods of solving. Like stars and bars problems. You also went through your own mental process about how to reach the answer, and that was a great job!

You gave them a lot of example problems, and very thoroughly explained how rotations, reflections, translations, and dilations work and what they change. Illustrating all the types of transformations helped the student visualize the concepts much better. Very well done!

This increases his confidence in you, thus allowing for his own confidence in his abilities to increases across the session. Aarav, you take a unique approach to teaching this subject, such as with your question at 29:45. This demonstrates that you want to provide a deep sense of understanding to your learners; you go beyond answers and explain concepts to a tee. Your style of teaching represents why this series is one of the highly-sought-after series in Schoolhouse community. You really make sure to engage the learners into the session by starting off with some quick quizzes, and that's actually a very great idea of making the learners engaged. Tough luck you don't get many learners attending the sessions even though so many of them have registered.

I do think that this session was highly engaging as it was very easy for the learners to follow along with their own Rubik's cube! It was clear that the learners were engaged as they would ask clarifying questions and make sure that they were following along correctly. I did notice that you did a good job checking learners' prior knowledge by asking them what their experience was solving Rubik's cubes, and they answered via chat what their experience level was (most of them being beginners). You then used this to tailor the session to them, by starting from the very beginning. Overall, you did very well with this part of the rubric, and I was glad to see how engaged the learners were!

Both of you seem to have a very good understanding of Rubik's cubes! I especially liked the visuals on your slides that you used during your explanation, and they were easy to follow and visually pleasing. You also gave good, detailed explanations for each step of solving the cube that you went over. Good job with the Mastery part of the MARS rubric!

Yes, the learner seems to be able to solve problems on his own towards the end of the session. He also seems confident in his abilities and contributes more to solving group problems that you work on as a group (such as at 1:07:38). He also expresses interest in a following session (1:08:22), indicating he is happy with the quality of this session and feels that he's made progress on his own.

-All tutors greet their learners and clarify the pronunciations of their names. You all also "loosen up" -- you are not overly serious while still staying on topic. You also make sure to clarify things that were not necessarily asked, such as introducing yourself as cohosts and talking about your own credentials and confidence when it comes to tutoring. Good job here! -Aarav, you ask how the learner is doing before starting the session. This definitely eased any tension that may have been present. Great job! -As mentioned in earlier boxes, you strengthen learner confidence by being confident in your own ability to solve Algebra problems. You also affirm the learner's attempts (telling him his answer is close, 26:00) and even speak positively when he is not able to provide any answer at all ("that's completely okay [that you don't know]," 24:00).

The learner did make progress as you and the learner worked through justifying the rationale and answer for the questions covered. Although the learner vocalized that she felt that she kept making small mistakes, it was clear that her confidence and rationalization for the questions improved as the session progressed.
