About

Hey!! I'm Sarah, a high school student from Tennessee who plays the piano and the violin and also figure skates. One of my greatest loves in life is music; I listen to many many different artists and genres (my current fixations are Une barque sur l'ocean by Ravel and Scentist by Vixx), so if you ever need a music recommendation, I would be thrilled to suggest a song or piece:). In addition to music, I'm passionate about the environment, fashion, math, and much more!

Schoolhouse Fall MUN 2024 - UNSC Committee

    2nd session

Welcome to the United Nations Security Council Committee sessions for the Schoolhouse Fall Model United Nations 2024! Schoolhouse MUN is an online Model United Nations event organized by a team of volunteers from schoolhouse.world. Delegates will have the opportunity to represent different countries in five distinct committees of the United Nations. This experience will enhance their understanding of current world issues and improve their public speaking, collaboration, and leadership skills. Agenda: Addressing the Crisis in Afghanistan: Security and Humanitarian Solutions Developing comprehensive strategies for stabilizing Afghanistan and addressing the humanitarian crisis. Chairs: Sarah W & Rivi K Overview of the Committee’s Agenda: A deeply scarred nation now faces an unfolding humanitarian disaster threatening millions of lives. At this very moment, over half of the population of Afghanistan, around 23.7 million Afghans, is in dire need of humanitarian assistance and protection. With Afghanistan’s infrastructure fragile and security stretched thin, every decision is urgent. Worse, at a time when it is more necessary than ever, international aid is diminishing, further escalating the crisis for civilians who depend on it for survival. Can the global community stabilize Afghanistan without jeopardizing regional security? Can humanitarian efforts be scaled without fueling extremism? With a primary goal of both maintaining and restoring international peace and security, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) was formed to address crises such as this. Delegates, as members of the UNSC, you are tasked with balancing immediate aid initiatives with long-term stability. Will your solutions help restore hope, or will the country spiral further into uncertainty? For more than four decades, Afghans have continued to face displacement, unable to return to their homes due to the continuous conflict that their country has faced. Through collaboration and problem-solving, you have the power to help bring peace to this nation that has suffered for far too long. Are you ready to redefine the world’s role in Afghanistan? Main Series: [https://schoolhouse.world/series/28597](https://schoolhouse.world/series/28597) Please note that each delegate must attend a minimum of three committee sessions to be eligible for a participation certificate. You are also welcome to join as an audience member! We look forward to your participation.

✨📚Study Space for Music Enthusiasts!🎧🎶

    37th session

Welcome!! We will study together using the Pomodoro technique (25 minutes of work and 5 minutes of break)! 🍅 In addition to studying, every week at the end of the session on Sunday, I'll feature a song of the week, where I'll present a song, after which we can discuss it:). There will also be a form for learners to suggest songs that they either want me to present or want to present themselves, so there may be songs of the week on some Wednesdays or Thursdays too! 🎵 During the 25 minutes of work, we will all stay on mute; I will also not be playing music during the work period because I find that, personally, even the most chill music can become distracting at times. Turning your video on is completely optional but suggested as a way for you to really concentrate on your work. 🧠 During break, we can unmute and chat about what we did in the past 25 minutes to foster a productive and encouraging environment! 🌱 Activities that participants can do during sessions are not restricted to just studying, as long as participants are not scrolling on Instagram or the like; these activities can be anything that you consider productive, from planning activities for your school club to finally practicing your instrument because your lesson is tomorrow! 🎻 I am certified in many different topics, but for the sake of maintaining a study space where everyone can concentrate on what they are doing, please do not ask any work-related questions in the session. Instead, the Schoolhouse.world subworld help channels are always a great place for you to get help with your questions! 😊 Sessions will not be scheduled too far into the future to avoid running into unforeseeable scheduling conflicts.

I loved how interactive the session was and I liked how we all had to introduce ourselves in the beginning before getting into the actual practice, so the tutor got to know all of us and we got to know her too.
