About

Hi! My name is Isabela, and I’m passionate about helping students build confidence and reach their academic goals. I specialize in English, SAT prep, History, and Chemistry, and I enjoy breaking down challenging concepts into simple, step-by-step explanations.

Outside of tutoring, I’m an honors student involved in leadership, volunteer work, and music, and I plan to pursue a career in chemistry and research. I know from experience that learning can feel overwhelming at times, but with the right guidance and practice, anyone can succeed. I look forward to supporting you on your learning journey!

You did a strong job keeping learners engaged throughout the session. Students were consistently asking questions about strategy, alliances, intelligence systems, population mechanics, and military structure, which shows that you created an environment where learners felt comfortable participating. You regularly paused to answer questions and allowed students to explore ideas like intelligence agencies, propaganda, and different government types. You also encouraged learners to think through their reasoning. When students suggested strategies like manipulating population numbers or hiding disasters, you asked them to consider the fairness and mechanics of the system, which helped them understand the logic behind the rules rather than simply accepting them.

You created a very relaxed and welcoming environment where learners felt comfortable asking questions and joking with each other. Students openly discussed strategies, shared ideas, and even debated historical and political concepts without hesitation, which suggests they felt safe contributing. Your tone remained patient and encouraging even when the conversation became chaotic or when learners proposed unrealistic strategies. You also validated students’ curiosity and creativity when they proposed ideas about alliances, intelligence agencies, and propaganda systems. By responding positively while still clarifying the rules, you helped maintain enthusiasm for the project.

You responded well when learners were confused about the rules of the simulation. For example, when students were unsure how disasters, intelligence gathering, or population balancing worked, you slowed down and explained the reasoning behind those design choices. You clarified multiple times that you would manage hidden information and events, which helped learners understand how the game mechanics would function. You also adapted to the learners’ curiosity by allowing discussion about possible strategies like propaganda, colonies, alliances, and neutrality. Instead of shutting down those ideas, you clarified which strategies were allowed within the framework of the simulation, which helped learners feel more invested in the activity.

You did a great job preparing for your lesson with your slideshow of content, example problems, and practice problems for your learners to do. You did a great job using these materials to teach your learners, and your mastery of the content was successfully demonstrated by your explanation of the topics and ability to answer any questions that your students had.
