About

Hi! My name is Isabela, and I’m passionate about helping students build confidence and reach their academic goals. I specialize in English, SAT prep, History, and Chemistry, and I enjoy breaking down challenging concepts into simple, step-by-step explanations.

Outside of tutoring, I’m an honors student involved in leadership, volunteer work, and music, and I plan to pursue a career in chemistry and research. I know from experience that learning can feel overwhelming at times, but with the right guidance and practice, anyone can succeed. I look forward to supporting you on your learning journey!

Really interactive session!! thank you!!

Isabela kept Sophia actively involved throughout the entire session by prompting her to compute derivatives, choose test points, interpret sign charts, and classify extrema herself. Rather than taking over, Isabela consistently let Sophia attempt each step and only stepped in when clarification was needed. This made the session highly interactive and learner-centered, especially given the number of practice problems worked through. Sophia was clearly engaged and comfortable attempting even difficult problems.

Isabela was extremely well-prepared and clearly structured the session around the first derivative test. She began by defining critical points, connected them to slope behavior, and consistently reinforced why sign changes matter. Her explanations reflected strong conceptual mastery of AP Calculus, especially when distinguishing between local vs. absolute extrema and clarifying when the test is inconclusive. She also consistently emphasized definitions and constraints (such as undefined points not always being valid critical points), which is exactly what students need for exam-level understanding.

Isabela was very responsive to moments of confusion, especially around sign charts, intervals, rational functions, and why only the numerator needs to be zero for a derivative equal to zero. When Sophia expressed uncertainty, Isabela slowed down, re-explained using simpler analogies (like “0 over x”), and walked through the logic step by step. She adapted pacing naturally, revisited definitions when needed, and handled increasingly complex problems without overwhelming the learner.
