This is a SAT Math Office Hour session for students.

This session is designed not only to teach advanced Desmos techniques useful for the SAT, but also to explain when and how to use Desmos effectively. Many advanced Desmos tutorials try to convince students that the road to an 800 lies in learning all kinds of Desmos tricks and shortcuts. As a result, many students rely on Desmos to such an extent that they become completely confused when they try to solve a question without it. This overreliance not only hampers their SAT score, but also affects their mathematical maturity, which they will carry into college. I believe that the key to an 800 lies in strong conceptual understanding. However, that doesn’t mean advanced Desmos methods should be ignored. That’s why this session is designed to teach students how to use Desmos as a powerful tool, not as a replacement for conceptual thinking. Topics covered in this session: - Desmos overview - Desmos Regressions - Using Tables - WHEN and HOW to use Desmos - Independent Problem Solving - Q&A Who this session is for Students who have already completed the fundamentals of SAT Math and are comfortable with the core concepts will benefit most from this session.

This office hour is to help students get better at the SAT.
