Amrita's One-Off Dialogue Session! :)

    Starts

Welcome to [Dialogues](https://schoolhouse.world/dialogues)! In this session, we will be discussing 'Mental Health' and using this: [https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MtuqnkWTQOZ4SbHtZAum5S0u4hov1X9RrBzkUkvgRcw/edit?tab=t.0#heading=h.lncugkbvgia1](https://schoolhouse.world/redirect?code=9AaTSLcn4yXcvV0tdnkxt) Here’s some helpful information to help you prepare for your session: 📌 Session introduction: At the start of the session, the event host will provide some introductory remarks about how the session will work and tips for discussion. 🧩 Discussion partner matching: All participants will be matched with a conversation partner to discuss with. If there are uneven numbers, you may have two conversation partners. 🤝 Breakout discussions: After the session introduction, everyone will switch to their breakout discussion. Your discussion will be unmoderated, so you can start when your partner arrives in the new Zoom link. 🗺️ Discussion Guide: You will have a topic-specific discussion guide for the session to help guide conversation. ⏰ Session length: The breakout discussions are scheduled for 45 minutes but you can discuss as long as you want! ✅ Stay on topic: Please make sure to stay on topic. If you and your partner run out of things to discuss, it’s okay to end the discussion early. You will not be returning to the main group when your conversation is over. 🤔 Make the discussion your own: You probably won’t have time to answer all the guide questions so pick and choose! Feel free to also bring in your own questions and ideas outside of the guide. 📝 Survey: A mandatory survey will appear at the end of your session to fill out. This must be filled out for you to get credit for the session in your Dialogues portfolio. 🤸‍♂️ Have fun: There is no preparation needed for this event. These conversations are meant to be casual, in addition to being meaningful. We hope you enjoy it!

Thank you so much Amrita! Always a kind individual, a beautiful neo-George Washington, a funny and humorous host, and a great and caring friend. You will always be the best sickness series host, not that there are any others at the moment

This was one of my favorite sessions Amrita hosted! Honestly, her sessions are within my top three of all the schoolhouse tutors :) Today, I enjoyed discussing different possibilities of diagnosis + treatment with Amrita and other learners; in particular, I valued hearing how some treatments are addictive and, therefore, should be deeply considered before prescribed because I have not pondered this topic often. Moreover, others introduced new perspectives to me. Similarly, Amrita taught me unique medical terms, including the following: tachycardia (abnormally high heart rate), bradycardia (abnormally slow heart rate), and the various types/causes of anemia (thalassemia, iron-deficiency anemia, sickle cell anemia, autoimmune hemolytic anemia, and severe diseases). Additionally, it was very fun, albeit unexpected, to ask questions and diagnose a patient because it forced me to critically think, recall related past knowledge, and ask effective questions to the patient. I assert that Amrita's sessions are welcoming, unique, and enthralling. Plus, if a topic becomes hard to follow, I can ask Amrita a question and confidently know she will answer. Although, if she doesn't, some learner will either re-establish the question to make sure it's heard or provide their own knowledge and opinions, furthering my thinking. Thanks so much, Amrita! You have fostered not only a centre of knowledge, but a lovely community! :D

Thank you for the session!! Every single one of these gives me a very memorable way to diagnose various diseases and I learn a lot of new ones too!!

Amrita. You are insanely good, funny and creative. There’s never a boring moment in what would normally be a dull, plodding session. This is literally the best academic series I have joined. I can’t believe my good luck in finding this, and I wish you luck on your likely-numerous essays. Don’t get stressed out.
