NASA Committee - Schoolhouse MUN 2026

    Starts

Welcome to the NASA Committee sessions for the Schoolhouse Model United Nations 2026! Schoolhouse MUN is an online Model United Nations event organized by a team of volunteers from Schoolhouse.world. Delegates will have the opportunity to represent different countries in six distinct committees of the United Nations. This experience will enhance their understanding of current world issues and improve their public speaking, collaboration, and leadership skills. Agenda: Developing Human Safety Protocols for Space Launches, Voyages, and Reentry (Set in 1961) Chairs: Siddh S, Amrita N Overview of the Committee’s Agenda: The Space Race of 1961: arguably one of the most pivotal events in human history. It was an event that turned outer space from an unexplored dreamscape to a battlefield of bitter competition, namely between the Soviet Union and the United States. In this fierce quest to establish dominance in the celestial realm, however, many lives were lost. Astronauts on both ends were placed in dangerous conditions, what with space travel still being revolutionized and optimized, and many lives became statistics for the losses that both nations faced, as the price for being some of the first countries to trek outside the Earth’s atmosphere. The nations found themselves struggling to ensure the safety of human lives while balancing the need to expand the bounds of their scientific knowledge. Delegates, your task is to create an agreed-upon proposal of policies that will optimize human welfare and safety while venturing into outer space. Collaborate with one another based on your nation’s policies and viewpoints to allow humanity to continue their exploration. Will you be the one to take a leap, not just for your nation, but for mankind? --- Please note that each delegate must attend a minimum of three committee sessions to be eligible for a participation certificate. You are also welcome to join as an audience member! We look forward to your participation! Main Series: [https://schoolhouse.world/series/76738](https://schoolhouse.world/series/76738)

Schoolhouse MUN 2025 - UNGA

    Ended Sun, Aug 17, 2025

Welcome to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) sessions of the Schoolhouse Model United Nations 2025! Schoolhouse MUN is an online Model United Nations event organized by a team of volunteers from schoolhouse.world. Delegates will have the opportunity to represent different countries in five distinct committees of the United Nations. This experience will enhance their understanding of current world issues and improve their public speaking, collaboration, and leadership skills. Agenda: “Maintaining International Cooperation and Peaceful Governance in Antarctica” Creating policy to ensure international success, cooperation, and peace in Antartica, relating to the resource distribution, land claims, and environmental preservation. Chair: Siddh S and Amrita N Overview of the Committee’s Agenda: Antarctica is often considered a barren land, but, recently, researchers, scientists, and nations alike have been interested in the potential of the region. Known for its scientific relevance to several fields such as climatology and physics, the region has been marked as a region of international scientific collaboration by the Antarctic Treaty with demilitarization. However, in recent years, several geopolitical and environmental concerns have been raised regarding Antarctica. On the geopolitical side, territorial disputes and conflicts between the Antarctic Treaty and the Law of the Sea have resulted in further disputes while on the environmental side concerns about invasive species, illegal fishing, and climate change have been damaging the region.  Delegates will be debating, collaborating, and drafting resolutions to address these issues and maintain peace and stability in the region. All participants are expected to have researched this topic and their countries’ relation to it to a degree of being able to contribute to the session effectively.  Get ready for some chilling debate, delegates! 🐧❄️☃️ Please make sure to also register for the main series: https://schoolhouse.world/series/55560 Please note that each delegate must attend a minimum of three committee sessions to be eligible for a participation certificate. You are also welcome to join as an audience member!
