About

😊Hey there!

I'm a high school student with a big passion for Electrical & Computer Engineering and I'm super excited to be part of Schoolhouse! I joined to prep for the SAT and to help out fellow students with math up to Precalculus 📐✨.

In my free time I enjoy listening to music 🎶, working out 💪, experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen , and I enjoy programming during my free time.

I'm super passionate about STEM and can’t wait to share what I’ve learned with you all. I also scored a 5 on AP Human Geography, AP World History, AP Precalculus, AP Spanish 4, AP Physics 1, and AP Seminar! 🌟 Feel free to reach out if you need help or just want to chat about any of these subjects! 😊

Thank for the session!

You clearly were thoroughly equipped to lead the session efficiently and exhibited mastery with the AP Human Geography material. You communicated clearly such key terms as ecumene, physiological density, and the demographic transition model, and offered sufficient examples to help make those more comprehensible. You tied your explanations to test-analogous strategies, such as underlining bolded words in notes, which allow students to maintain attention on what's really important for tests. This demonstrates that you're not only conversant with the material but also how the material is tested. Your explanations were sometimes too lengthy and redundant, though, which has the potential to slow down a student's attention or lose it. Breaking down your presentation into smaller chunks, using leading questions, or trailing off after each significant concept for the student to soak in would be required in order to balance effectiveness with clarity. Including more visuals or quick analogies would also help in causing the ideas to stick and not turn the session too lecture-like.

You provided a good, supportive environment throughout the session. You reminded the student gently that the hardest part is actually producing equations, which likely reduced anxiety, and your relaxed, positive presence helped give space for a stress-free learning environment. You also rewarded correct answers, reinforcing belief and confidence that the student is able to do the material. You most often, however, rewarded correctness and not quality of thinking. You can still reinforce connections by noticing and rewarding their thinking, work, or logical process even if they get the answer incorrect. For example, by saying "I like the way you deconstructed that" or "That's a nice way to think about it" would bolster a student's growth mindset and reinforce the confidence of the student. Such kind of feedback not only enhances the relationship but also tends to make the student more accepting of risk-taking in problem-solving, which will eventually make him self-reliant.
