About

Hi, I’m Matthew!

Welcome to my profile!

I'm a senior in high school from Illinois (US).

I am an experienced Senior Tutor on Schoolhouse. Most of my time here is spent tutoring my SAT courses, but I have experience and certifications for topics across the platform.

I run long-term, structured, and rigorous courses designed to make test prep manageable and effective with a goal of helping all students reach their goals. I have experience guiding students to scores in the 1400s and 1500s, many of whom have now become tutors themselves on Schoolhouse.

Outside of tutoring, I play baseball, support the Chicago Cubs and Bears and play video games. I’m also involved in BPA, Debate, YMSL, NHS, and Mu Alpha Theta (Math NHS).

Feel free to reach out with any questions!

The SAT doesn’t measure genius, just teachable skills. With the right preparation, you can score like a top test-taker. I’ve helped students raise their scores into the 1400s and 1500s, and many of them now tutor on Schoolhouse themselves. As a Senior SAT Tutor with a 1520 score, I’ve guided students toward proven results you can trust. 🏆 Top 10 in Super Helpful Ratings 🏆 Top 20 in Schoolhouse Points 🏆 Top 100 in Sessions Hosted (out of 30k tutors on Schoolhouse) In this course, we’ll cover all four SAT Reading and Writing sections: Information & Ideas, Craft & Structure, Expression of Ideas and Standard English Conventions Throughout the course, we’ll focus on the question types within these four sections the College Board repeats, building strategies to work efficiently and avoid traps. Each lesson comes with clear notes, curated practice, and access to the best free SAT resources, along with original guides I’ve created to simplify advanced topics. We’ll use official College Board question banks without spoiling Bluebook tests, so you’ll still have official exams to track your growth. The format is flexible. Each session stands on its own, so you can join at any point and attend the lessons that target your weaknesses, or stay for the entire series to build complete mastery. My students consistently report not only score gains but also newfound confidence and calm on test day, knowing they’ve seen the toughest material in advance. Whether you’re trying to break through a 600 plateau or aiming for a 750+, this course will give you the tools, resources, and mindset to make it happen. Last, but not least, the tutor did an incredible job developing connections with the learners'. The tutor was friendly, patient, and respectful throughout the session. This really helped strengthened the learners' confidence to where they didn't feel shy or scared to learn, and speak up/share any thoughts or concerns they may have had. This also led to a learning environment filled with comfort so every learner can learn comfortably from wherever they are without the need of negative feelings. Overall, with everything in mind, the tutor crushed this session and mastered every aspect. Good luck to the tutor's future sessions and endeavors! :)

Thank you for hosting this today! I really appreciate the depth from the problems and it's giving me a lot more confidence on the vocabulary section. The English section has been the hardest sections in my opinion so thank you for making clear and unambiguous explanations.

Thanks so much for the series Matthew! This was an amazing resource for SAT prep since you explained concepts, gave practice problems, and hosted quizzes which were all very helpful! I also appreciate how you were constantly checking on us and making sure everyone understood what you'd say! Thanks again!
