Schoolhouse MUN is an online Model United Nations event organised by a team of schoolhouse.world volunteers in which delegates will get the chance to represent different countries in 6 different committees of the United Nations to gain exposure to how the UN works, enhancing their knowledge on current world issues and improving their public speaking, collaboration and leadership skills. Hey everyone! We are really excited to welcome you all to the second edition of the Schoolhouse Model United Nations! What is an MUN and Why Should You Participate? For those who may not be familiar with MUN, it stands for Model United Nations, which is a simulation of the United Nations, with delegates taking on the role of a country’s representative to discuss and find solutions to pressing global issues. MUNs are a great opportunity to develop your public speaking, negotiation and problem-solving skills. And we’re excited to host the second edition of Schoolhouse MUN to give y’all these opportunities on the Schoolhouse.world platform! About the Event: The event will consist of opening and closing ceremonies, with training sessions for all delegates. There are six committees, with the details for each as follows: United Nations Development Programme: Accelerating the creation of inclusive and sustainable industrial development United Nations General Assembly: Discussing causes and solutions to animal extinction United Nations Environment Programme: Analysing the progress of the Paris Climate Agreement United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation: Discussing the viability of a Common Universal Education System United Nations Women: Economic and political empowerment of women Food and Agricultural Organisation: Assessing the causes and consequences of unequal food distribution across landmasses and regions The event will take place from 13th to 14th January, 2024 (Eastern Hemisphere time), with 3 committee sessions taking place everyday, each for one hour. Each delegate who attends at least half of the committee sessions will receive a participation certificate, and winners will receive certificates of excellence. The best delegates from each committee will also win Schoolhouse merchandise! How to Participate: 1. Register for this series to be a part of the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the training sessions for all delegates. 2. Your committee and portfolio will be assigned to you, and study materials for the same will be shared. After that, you’ll have to register for your committee’s series. So did I when I was in middle school, but I knew I needed to better understand and eventually explore an astronaut’s atmosphere! ☄️👩‍🚀🧑‍🚀 With a bit of research and determination, I’ve been able to connect myself to the astronaut experience in outer space! 🪐🔭🛰️ Throughout each session in this series, we will go over every single planet, but particularly the planet we all live on: Earth! 😊Schoolhouse is hosting a weekly series where learners and tutors come together to meet and learn new things. Each week, there will be different topics covered, and with those topics, there will be different tutors who will be speaking. This is a great opportunity to learn from experts in various fields and to connect with other learners and tutors.😊 The series is a Podcast which is a way of collaboration! 😊Some of the topics that will be covered include college advice, tips and tricks for tutoring, and much more. For instance, if you are looking for college advice, you might find it helpful to know that some of the best study tips for college students include taking and reviewing notes, attending class, and studying in short, focused sessions . Additionally, if you are interested in becoming a tutor, some tips for college tutoring include coming to your tutoring session prepared to work on something specific, getting adequate sleep the night before, and teaching the student how to learn 😊. There are many other topics that will be covered in this series, so be sure to join us every week to expand your knowledge and meet new people! 🎓👨‍🎓👩‍🎓

We’ll be going over geometry concepts based on Ariana’s wanting: furthermore, we’ll be learning new material and practicing simultaneously. NOTE: For other learners, this is made to be a 1-1 tutoring for one learner only, so unfortunately, I cannot make more spaces available. If you want your own session/series, you may inform me. Thank you for understanding.

NOTE: this series is NOT made for those who want to learn the calculus content but rather for those who aim to practice the calculus content covered and based on the Khan Academy AP Calculus BC Unit Tests. Throughout each session, we will go over the questions given the Khan Academy Unit Tests and provide explanations and sample question problems and examples when necessary. Please be prepared with a pen and paper and avoid using calculators unless specified.

Throughout this series, we will be going over content requested by learner Ariana and solving algebra based questions and explaining algebra based concepts; session descriptions may change according to learner needs, and this is designed to be only a one learner series, so I would highly appreciate no other learners registering only because it’s made solely for one learner; if you would like to have a math series dedicated to only your math needs, let me know in schoolhouse chats, Slack, or even the comments section of this series!

We will be going over specific content requested by specific learners. Please only join the session that is labeled with your name, but if you would like to join sessions that are requested by other learners, you are welcome to join, but please keep in mind that the session will be paced and according to that specific learner's needs, so we will move according to their desires. Be prepared with a pen and paper and no calculators allowed! NOTE: This is designed for a small group of learners, so I would be unable to add additional spaces. We will go over all content based on Khan Academy’s coursework structure and gain a deep understanding of the content as well as solve practice problems.

We will go over a variety of certain concepts and topics of pre-algebra, based on learners' preferences.
