About

Hi! I'm Angel!

I'm a rising freshman @Columbia pursuing PoliSci and a minor in either Arabic/French. I speak English, Spanish, and French and am currently learning Arabic after my summer abroad in Morocco via NSLI-Y. I will be hosting Arabic sessions and maybe reopening French sessions as well.

I like lilies, baking, language learning, and thrifting. Any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask!

Thank you so much for the session, you made the environment feel so comfortable and a place in which people felt more inclined to share! Definitely one of the friendliest and supportive tutors I've met so far!

Angel was apparently prepared to tutor such a session, demonstrating a strong understanding of the language and fluently pronouncing each word (not to mention that he's multilingual.) The interactivity of the presentation was excellent as well: the bilingual story, design, and even the stickers! It all engaged the learners, and, alongside such a friendly vibe, they stepped out to speak up, unafraid of their mistakes that Angel has corrected onward. I think that the session was focused on pronunciation, as to why he barely discussed any vocabulary or grammar. I guess it would've been better if he modified the session's description as “Practicing French [Conversation]” as it wasn't a direct conversation with the learners; it was a read conversation among the story's characters. Just to avoid confusion!

Thank you for your patience when it comes to these sessions! I have a lot of things on my plate, and it's hard to fit learning French into my schedule, so your tutoring sessions are a nice way to squeeze some French learning in.
