Thanks a lot! it was really easy to understand, and I'm really happy that I was able to solve the questions with your help!

Arjun showed excellent flexibility by pivoting away from the planned Khan Academy course to work on the fundamental arithmetic errors. He dedicated a significant portion of this segment to teaching fraction multiplication and fraction subtraction (when Omar was confused by 3− 3/10) and recognizing these prerequisite skills was necessary before moving on to variables and expressions. This adjustment confirmed that his teaching was student-led and almost diagnostic like. He identified the issue with 3−3/10 as a lack of understanding of common denominators and showed how to rewrite the whole number as a fraction (30/10).

Thanks for this session, I'm glad I was able to understand exponents and fractions better!

Arjun showed great patience and good commitment to making sure Omar fully grasped the core concept of multiplying a whole number by a fraction (4×1/25). By recognizing Omar's unfamiliarity, which came from confusing the fraction multiplication rule with the fraction exponent rule, Arjun didn't just rush the explanation. Instead, he broke it down step-by-step patiently reiterating the rule to only multiply it by your numerator. He also did so by illustrating it by writing the whole number as a fraction (4/1 x 1/25). Arjun even proposed a dedicated office hours session to review fraction arithmetic showing his clear commitment to Omar's need of extra help.
