Schoolhouse MUN 2025 - UNGA

    Starts

Welcome to the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) sessions of the Schoolhouse Model United Nations 2025! Schoolhouse MUN is an online Model United Nations event organized by a team of volunteers from schoolhouse.world. Delegates will have the opportunity to represent different countries in five distinct committees of the United Nations. This experience will enhance their understanding of current world issues and improve their public speaking, collaboration, and leadership skills. Agenda: “Maintaining International Cooperation and Peaceful Governance in Antarctica” Creating policy to ensure international success, cooperation, and peace in Antartica, relating to the resource distribution, land claims, and environmental preservation. Chair: Siddh S Overview of the Committee’s Agenda: Antarctica is often considered a barren land, but, recently, researchers, scientists, and nations alike have been interested in the potential of the region. Known for its scientific relevance to several fields such as climatology and physics, the region has been marked as a region of international scientific collaboration by the Antarctic Treaty with demilitarization. However, in recent years, several geopolitical and environmental concerns have been raised regarding Antarctica. On the geopolitical side, territorial disputes and conflicts between the Antarctic Treaty and the Law of the Sea have resulted in further disputes while on the environmental side concerns about invasive species, illegal fishing, and climate change have been damaging the region.  Delegates will be debating, collaborating, and drafting resolutions to address these issues and maintain peace and stability in the region. All participants are expected to have researched this topic and their countries’ relation to it to a degree of being able to contribute to the session effectively.  Get ready for some chilling debate, delegates! 🐧❄️☃️ Please make sure to also register for the main series: https://schoolhouse.world/series/55560 Please note that each delegate must attend a minimum of three committee sessions to be eligible for a participation certificate. You are also welcome to join as an audience member!

The tutor was extremely patient with the learners when they struggled with problems, encouraging them to take their time and asked them if they needed help. In addition, when they made mistakes, he did not directly say it's wrong but rather guided them to realize where they went wrong and arrive at the correct answer. He did a great job adapting to learners' unique needs when he allowed the learner who came first to receive help with her work first and then scheduled another session with her while helping the other learner with his work.

Thanks for the session you gave so much invaluable information.

The tutor didn't directly tell students that the got a problem "incorrect"; rather, he allowed his learners to explain their thinking so that they could find out for themselves that it's incorrect and even asked them to check their answers. This is a very positive and non-judgmental approach. The tutor asked one learner how to pronounce her name, showing that he cares about respecting his learners.
