The Bill of Rights

    10th session

Welcome to the Bill of Rights! 📜We'll be learning about the first 10 Amendments to the US Constitution, as well as an extra amendment that greatly increased their power (the 14th Amendment). The very first session will be an introduction to the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and 14th Amendment. We'll also cover some skills law students use to understand court cases.📓 After that, each session will cover an amendment or two, go over the historical issues the Founders were responding to, understand modern application and limitations, and go over zero to three relevant Supreme Court cases. 🏛️(Sometimes an amendment is so self-explanatory or so dependent on other amendments it rarely gets seen in court.) Please be ready to work with other students to analyze cases. We'll also play a fun quiz game at the end of each session to make sure you get everything down!

Reading and Writing for the August 2024 SAT

Wednesdays 4:00 PM, Fridays 4:00 PM

Hi! My name is Claire, and this will be my fifth Reading and Writing bootcamp! I am a homeschooled rising senior and dual enrollment student studying medicine and public health. I really enjoy interacting with learners and solving questions together. This will be my first DSAT bootcamp, and I'm excited to learn new things while teaching all of you! This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Reading & Writing. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You'll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it's a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can't have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

Schoolhouse Eras Tour 🌎

    Ended Mon, Mar 25, 2024

Hey, everybody! The Schoolhouse Community Engagement Team is really excited to welcome you to the Schoolhouse Eras Tour! The Schoolhouse Eras Tour is an exciting community event that’ll be hosted in celebration of Schoolhouse’s fourth birthday, beginning on March 21st, 2024, with the Schoolhouse Points Award Ceremony, where we will recognize the Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond learners and tutors for their hard work earning Schoolhouse Points over the past year! Over the course of the next four sessions, you will have the chance to time travel through Schoolhouse’s history and different eras, from the original Long Beach Pilot to today’s Subworlds Era. You will also learn about our programs and partnerships and also gain an inside look into our official volunteer teams! The Schoolhouse Eras Tour will conclude with a Schoolhouse Community vs Product Team Trivia Game on March 25. Come ready for an exciting chance to meet the visionaries who lead our community and challenge them to a friendly (but fierce) competition! That makes six sessions of fun, excitement, and Schoolhouse history! We hope to see you there, ready to learn about the inner workings of our community!
