Thank you for this session! I love how interactive it was! It was a very productive and interactive discussion I ever had with a partner! I love and appreciate everything about it :D

Learner · 2 days ago

Thank you for always explaining and going over details. Also thank you for responding so quickly while helping with technical issues😄.

Learner · 3 days ago

You were refreshingly straightforward and amiable, which was really nice. You told me what I should look for and where to find it, like the breakout link and the guide. Also, I could always hear you clearly. Amazing experience and tutor!

Learner · 6 days ago

Thank you for this session! I love how you introduced everyone to how the dialogues were supposed to work - it really made my first time discussing smoother and easier :)

Learner · 6 days ago

This was an incredible session. The host spoke clearly and was easy to understand. Everything about the session was explained well. Thank you for the session.

Learner · 11 days ago

Thank you for this session! I love how interactive it was, and I really appreciated how you looked out for people who were first-timers.

Learner · 11 days ago

Thank you for explaining how the session works beforehand, it was a great introduction to dialogues for my first time.

Learner · 12 days ago

I really enjoyed discussing threats to democracy because this is such an important issue and relevant to all of our lives. This was my first dialogue, but it was great and I will definitely look for more!

Learner · 12 days ago

Both tutors explained how the dialogues work very clearly, making it a smooth experience for me as it was my first time.

Learner · 12 days ago

Thank you for being so welcoming and engaging with us! Your passion for Dialogues and networking shine through and made the session so much more fun.

Learner · 12 days ago

The hosts showed exceptional adaptability. When a learner pointed out a duplicate question, Margaret responded immediately and offered a fair, low-friction solution. When issues with the form submission or timing arose, Margaret and Armaan both paused to resolve things privately and reassured learners publicly. Additionally, Margaret's commitment to transparency (explaining score scaling, proctoring, and appeals) helped reduce confusion and stress.

Tutor · 14 days ago

Margaret came thoroughly prepared with clear logistical instructions, links, rules, and pacing for the entire contest. Her explanation of competition mechanics—division structure, passkey timing, scratch paper requirements, prize tiers, and submission policies—demonstrated full command over both content and structure. Even when technical hiccups (e.g., repeated questions or late form submissions) arose, she responded promptly and transparently. Armaan also contributed to maintaining structure by issuing time calls and enforcing deadlines.

Tutor · 14 days ago

It was my first time participating in a dialogue session, and it exceeded my expectations. I was so nervous, but my partners were very patient and experienced so it was nice.

Learner · 19 days ago

Yeah the conduction was awesome and also I shared some feedback to armaan and Margaret and I hope they incorporate that in such events in future.

Learner · 20 days ago

Hi, so there were a few technical difficulties (which, as a fellow tutor, I really don't mind as I can relate to your trouble), so the session was a bit slow. I think a bunch of learners might not be very happy with that, but I do not feel that way at all. Despite the form submission system working against you in every way possible, you still managed to deliver a paper to us and let us all compete. MASSIVE respect for that. You were incredibly kind, polite, and patient in your explanations and responses to questions. Even when the same question came up over and over again, and the learners started to get impatient, you still handled it wonderfully. Especially Margaret, I could tell she was so busy trying to fix everything, but she made time to help everyone by answering their questions. I know you guys might get some negative feedback due to the technical delays, but do not let it get into your minds. From the entirety of the schoolhouse summer camp series, this one had the best, most genuine hosts (albeit the unluckiest ones). Be proud of your work, and continue to do well in the future. Best, Rivi

Learner · 21 days ago

Thank you so much for the effort you put in!! Especially with the technical difficulties, you still handled it relatively quickly and stayed in control :)

Learner · 21 days ago

This was my first experience doing a math competition! It was really fun, thanks!

Learner · 22 days ago

Thank you for the session! Although I didn't place, it was still fun to compete in this Geometry Competition. I hope to see more competetions like this in the future

Learner · 22 days ago

Thank you all for working with us and the technical issues! This was so fun, and I'm glad you are offering this!

Learner · 23 days ago

Thank you for the session! I learnt a lot and tried a lot of fun math problems that I enjoyed very much.

Learner · 1 mo. ago

Wow, you host a lot of sessions! I'm grateful for the experience, because my discussion was eye-opening.

Learner · 2 mo. ago

Had a wonderful dialogue just a while ago! It was great and refreshing since we had differing perspectives from the beginning.

Learner · 2 mo. ago

Thank you so much for setting up this dialogue discussion! I was able to talk to people of different backgrounds and different beliefs, and we were able to come together and share our beliefs and understand each other and consider that we are all different, but Still equal.

Learner · 4 mo. ago

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet these brilliant individuals :))

Learner · 6 mo. ago

I am very grateful for this experience that you have given me by opening a dialogue club and I really appreciated how kind, understand and down to earth you were starting this session for which I am very excited to attend all others!

Learner · 6 mo. ago

Thanks for this MUN! I enjoyed every session and it was a great introduction to MUNs in general

Learner · 8 mo. ago

Thank you guys so much! There was so much anticipation, and I'm proud of my award. You guys continued and improved the SMUN tradition and brought in tons of new faces. It was awesome!

Learner · 8 mo. ago

Thanks for the session. It was really an informative session for those who wants to join a volunteering team. Once again, thank you all for the session!

Learner · 10 mo. ago

It seemed to be a fun session! I was able to stay only for a short amount of time but I feel it's very well-prepared!

Learner · 11 mo. ago

Like no other; my felicitations to all 3 of them. And bravo to the organizing team, this was quite the effort!

Learner · 11 mo. ago

Thank you so much for hosting the session and fully answering all my tutoring related questions! I definitely feel more confident about tutoring in math and feel more prepared for what's to come. Hopefully I'll see you in another session!

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thank you so much for this session Margaret, even though I wasn't capable of learning this course right now, you are still very patient and I really enjoyed the session. I will definitely attend more sessions if I can and make more drawings...If they are not too much of a mess :) Again, I really appreciate your session!

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thank you so much for the session, Margaret! Your explanations were AMAZINGLY SIMPLIFIED, very engaging, and you were so patient with me even though I kept accidentally interrupting you! You also managed to take us through a lot in a reasonably short amount of time (and extra for shenanigans...). The poor Calculus Handymen falling off a jump discontinuity while trying to fix it created a very vivid and memorable description for me...I doubt I'll forget that anytime soon.

Learner · 1 yr. ago

The tutoring session was phenomenal as you explained very well the material. Also you are very friendly towards students.

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thank you so much for the help! You're awesome :)

Learner · 1 yr. ago

You did a great job of validating the learner in how the poorly-written problem would make someone stressful as well as confirmed their suspicions that the question was faulty. You also did a great job of nudging them towards asking their teacher about the problem during their next class period, noticing that the learner said that they would "maybe" do it rather than positively do it. This shows your attention to their confidence level, even without having the ability to use their camera or voice to determine it. In addition, you would check in to see whether or not the learner wanted to continue the session once the question was pointed out to be faulty, showing your focus on them learning rather than just getting service hours for the tutoring. When the learner would get questions wrong, you never made empty words of encouragement but genuinely shared how the topic is confusing and why it would be easy for the learner to make a conceptual mistake. Great job!

Tutor · 1 yr. ago

Thank you for the help! Explained things perfectly and made it everything easy to understand :)

Learner · 1 yr. ago

I thought you did an excellent job at making sure the learner was the primary progress-maker during this session. You asked a lot of great open-ended questions that forced the learner to think about the next steps of the problems without accidentally giving them away, and I particularly liked how you heavily involved the learner in the process of drawing the diagrams for the problems (I have made the rookie mistake in the past of drawing diagrams to help myself understand a problem better only to realise afterwards that coming up with a good drawing was 80% of the challenge of the problem). I also thought it was great that when the learner proposed an idea that was correct but suboptimal that you acknowledged the merits of their idea and gave them the option to proceed with it while also proposing a more efficient path that they could take.

Tutor · 1 yr. ago

You clearly expressed mastery of the concept as you were able to identify to what extent of information you needed for the first problem! You also quickly and thoroughly responded to the questions that the learner asked and comprehensively explained and identified the learner's gaps and weaknesses. You also accurately explained each of the problems.

Tutor · 1 yr. ago

Thanks! I got a very glowing report from my teacher!!! She absolutely loved how you helped me explain things. I also got a good grade on the DBA because you explained it to me so well. Thank you!!!!

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thank you so much for helping me with my homework. You were a really great tutor and made me feel good about Schoolhouse.

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thank you so much for hosting this geometry session on proofs, Margaret! I never really understood or was successful at proofs, but I came away from this session with a deeper understanding and some helpful tips!

Learner · 1 yr. ago

The constant discussion that you had with your learners helped to make them more comfortable with you. This creates a learning environment in which learners feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and be themselves. I honestly don't think you could have done much more to make your learner feel comfortable. You were talking together and learning, but also having a fun time (here is a quote from the session transcript: " So yeah, hi, guys. hey, Margaret does so good. You should give her advanced"). Great job! Keep up the good work!

Tutor · 1 yr. ago

Thank you your explanations Margaret! It surely helped me a lot!

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thank you so much for this session. Even though I won the blooket every time, I love how we all playing with as a group and knowing math knowledge at the same time

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thank you for the in-depth explanation! I never knew anything about the sums of the roots of quadratics beforehand (you learn something new every day), but you explained it in a very concise manner for me. :)

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Thank you so much for this lesson! I really learned a lot of new, valuable information.

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Great session. Absolutely no complaints and I'm so glad you covered trigonometric functions, a topic that no other tutor has reached so far. Thank You, and looking forward to the next session.

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Great job being friendly to the learner and keeping a positive attitude. The learner seemed to be very grateful of your help and felt comfortable making mistakes. Great job gently correcting mistakes as it made the learner feel more comfortable. Keep up the great work!

Tutor · 2 yr. ago

Thanks for the session, I looked back at the lesson and what you teaching finally clicked!

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Always helping me out, giving me great examples, makes me laugh, has a unique mind!! Great tutor

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Tysm- super funny and extrodinary way of thinking math. Makes sessions waaaay less boring and I always look forward to being in a session with you!!

Learner · 2 yr. ago

1 OF THE BEST TUTORS EVER!!! EXPLAINS EVERY THING SO WELL!

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Explained it throughly and in a way simpler that my teacher did.

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Margaret was so incredibly sweet and supportive! She guided me the entire time and was really helpful! She went through every problem thoroughly and encouraged me throughout. I feel way more confident in my Algebra I abilities now! Thank you so much :))

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Thank you for taking time out of your day to help me! I feel more confident in similarities and congruence in triangles now! It means a lot!

Learner · 2 yr. ago

She has absolutely amazing explanations! Her session helped me a lot.

Learner · 2 yr. ago

An amazing session as always! :D I learned a lot, and they walked me through a lot of problems that I was struggling with (circles, radians, etc.). Thank you for furthering my knowledge in Geometry (and motivating me to learn more)!

Learner · 2 yr. ago

So friendly and superkind. Plus good explanations that cleared my confusion. Loved how critical your thinking was and would absolutely love to have more sessions with you!

Learner · 2 yr. ago

this was one of the best sessions I have attended thank you for your super helpful explanations and patients.

Learner · 2 yr. ago

The practice problems that you included throughout the slide show from Khan Academy with transformations were also very helpful in confirming that the learner was internalizing what you had to say, but maybe next time you could include some miniature impromptu practice questions on each individual transformation. Nonetheless, your learner was able to answer the practice questions with ease under your comforting assistance, which was very outstanding to see in that transformation practice question. Moreover, your learner was very much already engaged with everything you had to say with your very thorough explanations of the diagrams and shapes you had, with concepts like rotational symmetry, so a very nice job in this respect!

Tutor · 2 yr. ago

Throughout the session, I could easily sense the feeling that you really wanted to uncover what the learner wasn't too familiar with. Though this session would have been more appropriate for a Live Help session, you did amazingly well in caring for your peer. Just a little caveat I would like to address is that there could have been a little 30-second introduction of who you are and who the learner is- doesn't have to be long, but this just helps in creating an even more conversational tone than it is already. Right off the bat, your slide show already demonstrated commitment and devotion into the learner's time. Rather than simply reading what you had on the slides, I LOVE that you were so patient with your explanations, making sure that your learner understood where the properties of a certain transformation, for example, was coming from. The conversational tone throughout the session was also impeccable; at one point you also let the learner know that she was not rushed- as she was writing down notes, you amiably stated that she could take all the time in the world, which I felt was very nice. Finally, I love that you were able to put yourself in the learner's shoes as you very much understood what the learner was trying to say in the practice problems that were provided, also stating that you also made mistakes all the time, creating a feeling of empathy with the learner, which refined the atmosphere of the learning environment. Great job!

Tutor · 2 yr. ago

Thank you for the session,it was so interactive and I felt very heard and seen and the same time inspired to learn for the differences between me and my partner.

Learner · 3 days ago

I loved the discussion document for the session because it doesn't just ask questions about your personal views, but also asks you to describe certain aspects of your environment, which helps both students better understand the reasons behind their partners' views.

Learner · 4 days ago

Liked how well organized the event was. You definitely had well thought out clear instructions on the way to get started. I liked the questions you created, it really had good intentions in deepening the conversation. I got to say things I didn't think about how to bring up. But the questions made it easy.

Learner · 6 days ago

If I were to choose between this session and an episode of Jujutsu Kaisen that sees Gojo being revived I think I'd choose this session

Learner · 10 days ago

This session was really awe-inspiring! I got to meet two people of different background and opinions, as well as discover others perspective on our government system. The conversation was insightful and impactful.

Learner · 11 days ago

Thank you so much for this session! You were both very kind and provided a lot of helpful tips. I also really appreciate that you took the time to answer every question that was asked. :)

Learner · 12 days ago

Thank you so much for this Dialogues session! It was so fun and I am so grateful for all the effort put into this!

Learner · 12 days ago

This session was awesome! Thanks for giving such a good explanation at the beginning about what we have to do.

Learner · 12 days ago

Thanks for introducing dialogues to us and answering questions! I liked exploring more viewpoints with this topic.

Learner · 12 days ago

Thank you so much for this session. I loved looking forward to it and I can't wait for the next one

Learner · 12 days ago

Margaret normalized struggling on the test by reminding everyone that it was supposed to be difficult and that even mid-range scores were strong. She addressed learners by name, validated their concerns, and thanked them for participation multiple times. Armaan’s friendly tone (e.g., casually asking how people found the test and offering reassurances) helped further humanize the experience. The closing remarks about how scores would be reviewed and appeals handled also ensured fairness and trust.

Tutor · 14 days ago

I really appreciated how you were able to handle the issues with the breakout rooms not working. You worked very well under all of that pressure!

Learner · 18 days ago

The tutors were both very helpful in the beginning since this was my first session.

Learner · 19 days ago

This was such a wonderful event to get to be a part of! Thanks for all the hard-working you put into running it!

Learner · 21 days ago

In the future it would be nice to have people strictly use chat to convey messages because it got a little distracting with all the audio during the test but other than that it was excellent! Thank you and the tutoring team for hosting the event!

Learner · 21 days ago

Thank you so much Margaret and the team, I really enjoy math competitions as a student really interested in STEM and I loved how well you took care of problems and managed time very efficiently even with such a large group. This was really fun for me!

Learner · 21 days ago

Thank you so much for hosting the session! I know it probably took a lot of work preparing questions + proctoring all the sessions. It was also very hard for me; granted, I've never trained for competition math, but I thought the difficulty of the problems was on point.

Learner · 22 days ago

Again, well done with the competition. You were able to set your boundaries in your competition rules (That you must join within the first 15 minutes was the best example) while simultaneously creating an environment for learners to go out on a limb and compete with one another as well as building on confidence to be comfortable in such a large environment. Even without as much interaction as a traditional series, it is clear that the entire competition team was working together to bring a positive competitive environment to all of the learners. Congrats to you all!

Tutor · 22 days ago

Thank you for the session! You explained the problems very well, and I learned new ways to solve some of the problems.

Learner · 27 days ago

This was truly an amazing session. Thank you so much for giving us an outlet to express our opinions on things.

Learner · 2 mo. ago

I really liked the theme and also the person with whom I was discussing. She was very friendly and offered me new perspectives.

Learner · 2 mo. ago

Thank you for this session, I really loved how interactive it was and I learned more views

Learner · 3 mo. ago

Thank you for offering yet another great discussion. I really enjoyed talking with my dialogue partner- I got to learn a lot about the Philippines, and they're attitude and views on climate change.

Learner · 5 mo. ago

Thank you so much for this session! I learnt a lot and I now have a broader perspective on how to look at mental health. It was really fun and informative!

Learner · 6 mo. ago

This series for me was like an intellectual mental health break. I was someone who came here as a spectator, as my exams were just finished which didn’t give me enough time for me to prepare, and was welcomed goodly by the committee I registered with. The series was good, it brought back some memories of physical MUN’s. The session that was the most enjoyable one was the UNSC IPC Conference, where the delegate of UAE directly clashed with the Secretary-General of the SMUN, also IPC representative, on a topic that stirred a bit of controversy in the air. That was quite heated, and comedy too. I enjoyed this series, gained tons of information, had good learnings, and hopefully If I could be a delegate in the next MUN-if possible in my favourite committee-then I’d be very well equipped and act, rather be, like a proper diplomat. I’d love to see the next MUN be for more days, and have more better delegates, more intense battles, and immerse into the world of diplomacy completely. Cheers!

Learner · 8 mo. ago

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ORGANISING THIS IT WAS SO NICE AND WONDERFUL TO KNOW EVERYONE AND EXPERIENCE THIS!

Learner · 8 mo. ago

Thank you! This was really detailed and helpful. I got interested in applying to teams I haven't even considered before because all of you seem to be working on great things :)

Learner · 10 mo. ago

Thanks for the session! It was really awesome to hear that other tutors faced similar challenges that I did.

Learner · 11 mo. ago

Margaret, you're an absolutely splendiferous tutor. Your explanations are always concise, simple, and the way that you showed me to visualise problems is so useful!!! I'm not sure what else to say except that I'm so grateful to have you as my tutor <3 (and friend hehe)

Learner · 11 mo. ago

Thank you for taking me through Unit 3!! I didn't expect to make such good progress :D Margaret and Jacob were very patient, extremely helpful at clearing any doubts I had (there were a lot of them), and super sweet!!

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thank you for helping me go over the unit test! I'll see if I can finish it this week XD

Learner · 1 yr. ago

You did a great job of asking lots of quick questions to confirm that your learner was following along. A lot of the time, tutors will ask questions, but they're so vague that they don't really check the learner's knowledge, but yours were specific and detailed enough to give you a really good sense of the learner's understanding. Keep this up in the future!

Tutor · 1 yr. ago

My third time with her and gosh she is amazing! she knows how to explain n properly and help me fix and understand my mistakes!

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thank you for the helpful session! I appreciated everything you've taught me (and for the riddle with the star in the circle lol) Thank you!!! :)

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thank you so much! although I'm still struggling, your session actually did help me to clear off a lot of questions.

Learner · 1 yr. ago

I'm so grateful for you finding the stars and bars connection and taking a chance on a weird problem.

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Margaret is a great tutor and an amazing person! She is always helpful and patient, even when you get the answer right 100 times. She is great to talk to, and bounce ideas off of. Our sessions go beyond math, we can learn math and talk about everyday life. Overall, 1000% recommend Margaret as a tutor.

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thanks, I always enjoy our sessions, and every time you help me I always get 100s.

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Margaret was a great tutor! She helped me with my math homework and was super helpful!! Shes great:)

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thanks for stay over the session to answer a few of my questions, I am thankful you checked for me!

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thanks again for helping out, Margaret! Your help in the session was amazing.

Learner · 1 yr. ago

You have a great knowledge of Algebra II. All your math was correct. Great job annotating on the whiteboard! Visual learning is a great tool to help your learners better grasp concepts that you are teaching.

Tutor · 1 yr. ago

Thank you for all the help, Margaret!! This was really helpful and really helped me understand the topic a lot better. You had great explanations and tips. I think after a few more practices at Khan Academy, I'll be good to go. Thank you so much!

Learner · 1 yr. ago

thank you for the amazing session 💙

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thanks for hosting such an engaging and interactive session with a fun math competition. I really didn't expect this much fun to be associated with math!

Learner · 1 yr. ago

Thanks for the session! It gave me motivation to keep on going!

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Amazing Session. Absolutely No Complaints. She was interactive, fun, patient, and like every other good thing there was. She is very skilled, knows the basically every corner of Algebra 2 and Trigonometry.

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Helpful session in terms of helping to grasp Trigonometry concepts! Thank you, Margaret!

Learner · 2 yr. ago

I have so much fun in these sessions. They really motivate me to write! I especially had fun with our little DuckApocalypse today :) Thank you Margaret!!

Learner · 2 yr. ago

The session was a lot of fun and I learned a lot of it! I like that you showed me the road to get to the answer instead of just saying what it is, even when I was struggling. Thank you so much and I can't wait to see you next session!

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Looks at math in such a cool way I think I change my opinion on how hard math is. RLY FUNNY!! And I rlly recommend this tutor

Learner · 2 yr. ago

It was a great idea to begin with a couple of warm-up questions before asking your learners to complete the whole assessment. This allowed you to discuss the solving process with your learners and fill in any knowledge gaps they might have had. You were continuously engaging learners and asked them to explain how they got their answers. There wasn't time to review the practice test (the learners had to finish the session already), but if you could review the test during the next session, that would be great. It is important for learners to understand why they made mistakes and also to reinforce their understanding of a concept even if they got all the questions right. However, you did an amazing job. Keep up the good work!

Tutor · 2 yr. ago

Thank you so much for your help, Margaret! This was a very helpful session, and it helped me understand what I was learning much faster as I was very confused. Thanks again!

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Thank you so much for your help. I was having a very hard time but this session made things easier to understand. I appriciate your help. Thanks again!

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Thank you for the good explanations! I'm actually only in 7th grade and I actually understand some stuff you were talking about.

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Thank you for encouraging the learner as they were working through the problems! It seemed like they already possessed a good understanding of proofs, so you were able to nicely supplement their learning. I also thought you opened up really well, asking them if they had specific problems and trying to understand what they needed assistance on.

Tutor · 2 yr. ago

Reviewed a lot and have better understanding of the topic.

Learner · 2 yr. ago

Margaret was very interactive and fun to work with this session! I learned a lot and am looking forward to future sessions!

Learner · 2 yr. ago

I liked that there were slides and Margaret had a very good grasp of the subject. Looking forward to more classes.

Learner · 2 yr. ago

The learner's confusions were able to be thoroughly addressed throughout this Q&A session and very individualized on the specific weaknesses the learner had. You also made sure to hone in on the learner's weaknesses as you were able to discern what she knew and what she didn't by having her briefly explain the concepts of what she knew. Though just a little caveat I would add to the already phenomenal session, I would give miniature practice questions that don't take longer than a minute for the concepts that the learner was unfamiliar with, to refine the concepts that the learner may have just learned, and also have the learner explain them too. This not only helps the learner but lets you know if the learner is keeping up with what you are teaching so that you can further tailor the session to the learner's needs.

Tutor · 2 yr. ago

First of all, after finishing with the peer review of this session: This session was SO OUTSTANDING considering that it's one of your first on Schoolhouse!! I highly encourage you to keep up the great work! Your explanations (and the identifications of your learner's weaknesses) were very thorough and you explained every minute detail. For instance, for translations, you were able to explain their properties very clearly to the learner based on what translations were, which was very impressive, so keep it up! The prepared drawings that you had in preparation for the Q&A meeting showed that you really valued the comprehension of the concept(s) in your learners (which I will get into in further detail in the 'Respectful Community' criteria :) )

Tutor · 2 yr. ago

She was super helpful and friendly
