Engagement was a major strength of your session. You immediately engaged the student by asking him to share his screen and show you the problems he got wrong. Instead of simply giving the answers, you consistently asked him to explain his thought process. For example, you asked, "Why did you choose option C?" and "Can you tell me what an independent clause is?" This approach is highly effective because it helps you diagnose the student's misconceptions and allows them to actively participate in their own learning. You also guided the student to find the answer on his own, for instance, by asking, "Can you tell me what the one thing is?" when reviewing the answer choices. This is excellent tutoring practice.
