English and Writing: Editing, Homework Help, and Feedback

    4th session

Need help with your English homework? Don’t know how to craft an attention-grabbing hook? Confused by complicated essay structures? Unsure what words to choose? This course is taught an honors senior who is Co-Editor-in-Chief and Opinions Editor of the school newspaper and scored an 800 on SAT Reading & Writing and a 5 in AP Lang. In this course, I offer either writing help or general English help. In my writing lessons, each student will be individually coached as I proofread writing or look at assignments and identify areas in need of improvement. Whether it be reading assignments, essays, articles, stories, or speeches, this course is designed to help you improve your writing through constructive feedback and thorough editing. Come to each session with a piece of writing—finished or unfinished—and we will review it together. I will offer constructive criticism on how to improve the piece and your writing as a whole, then edit it to your liking. In my homework help sessions, each student will be individually coached as I walk you through English assignments and guide you on how to complete them to the best quality. I can help you brainstorm ideas, explain complicated instructions or reading passages, and edit your work to check for errors. Important note: These lessons are meant to be individually tailored (I can also work with small groups if you have a friend/peer with whom you are doing an assignment, or if you’d just like to be with a friend). To schedule a lesson, please DM me through Schoolhouse and let me know what you’d like to work on so we can set a date. Thank you!

Reading and Writing for the August 2025 SAT

Tuesdays 1:00 AM, Thursdays 1:00 AM

Hello! I'm Annelie, a rising senior from Southern California who loves reading, writing, and listening to Hozier. I achieved an 800 on the Reading & Writing section of the SAT (don't ask me about my math score...). I'm also the Editor-in-Chief of my school newspaper, Public Relations Chairman of my local volunteer organization, and a member of my city's Youth Council. I've previously tutored for the SAT Bootcamp, and I'm excited to continue tutoring through Schoolhouse! This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Reading & Writing. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.
