A little bit about me! I just graduated high school and I'm excited to offer this short course in statistics. I scored a 5 on the AP Statistics exam last year and I also have experience in Discrete Mathematics. This summer course offers a mathematically rigorous yet accessible introduction to probability. Students will explore: - Basic probability and sample spaces - Simulations and the Law of Large Numbers - Compound and conditional probability - Bayes' Theorem - Discrete probability distributions, including binomial models The course consists of six main sessions, each one hour long, having a clear, structured lecture followed by guided example problems. A seventh and final session will offer a comprehensive review and a set of cumulative problems to reinforce learning and retention. I have taken AP Physics I, II, and C, as well as Modern Physics and two graduate-level physics courses. This summer course offers an engaging and accessible introduction to nuclear physics. A background in physics is encouraged but not necessary, and the course will begin with review. Students will explore: - Mass-energy equivalence through - Nuclear structure and stability - Radioactive decay - Nuclear reactions - Fission, Fusion, and applications in nuclear energy and particle accelerators I have a 7 week plan consisting of 3 one-hour long sessions each week. Each session contains clear and engaging lecture content interspersed with example exercises. The goal of this course is to be conceptually interesting while having enough computation to be useful for students interested in taking similar courses in the future.
