Reading and Writing for the August 2025 SAT®

Tuesdays 10:30 AM, Wednesdays 10:30 AM

Hi, I'm Charlotte. I've been a tutor at schoolhouse since May 2024 and am so excited to help you improve your reading skills as you prepare to take your SAT! This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Reading & Writing. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

Juggling Club

    3rd session

Want to be a better athlete? If yes, juggling is the skill for you. Juggling increases eye-hand coordination, reflexes, and coordination, which are skills that any athlete or person can benefit from. 🕵️Ever wanted to feel like Sherlock Holmes or Hercule Poirot with his "little grey cells?" Studies have found that learning how to juggle can increase the density of grey matter. Finally, do you want to impress your friends and family? If you asked all of them if they knew how to juggle, you might get 1 or 2 who answered "yes." Juggling is a skill you can pull out at parties, talent shows 😉, or just impressing your friends in the lunch room. Throughout this series, you will learn how to juggle. Not only that, though, you will also learn why you should juggle(hint, there are ALOT of reasons), how to practice your skills, and what you can do to create a juggling community. Every two weeks, we’ll focus on one new skill. Then, throughout the rest of the week, you’ll get some office hours where you can ask for help with form or just come to a focused place to practice. Some times, we’ll even have additional sessions to talk about juggling (like the math behind it and it’s history) I can’t wait to see you there! Materials: If you don’t have juggling balls, no worries! You can use rolled up socks (or any other piece of clothing, just, for your sake, make sure it’s clean), tennis balls(that’s what I’ll be using), or any other round object that you are okay repeatedly dropping on the floor! :) (just make sure there are three of them)

SAT Study Corner

    10th session

This is a safe place to discuss your worries/ask for tips for the SAT. Simply type in the chat or come off mute. 💬 Or maybe you just want to study to some vibey lo-fi music. We've got that, too! 🌸🍵🎧 There'll be several 10-minute timers throughout the session to help you streamline your study. 🕐 Practice a domain on Khan Academy, memorize your multiplication tables, or take a full Bluebook practice test. 📝 There'll always be the SAT Math Reference sheet and a list of English affixes in the chat to start the session. 📃

How To...

    4th session

Ever wanted to learn to juggle, type, or hold a conversation in a new language? If you have, this summer-long series is for you. Want to show off the new skills you've learned during the series? Then make sure to come to the talent show at the end of the summer! Here, you'll be able to watch others' performances and do your own. If you would like to participate, submit this google form by August 1st: [https://forms.gle/Usryj8pHAmw5iETS9](https://forms.gle/Usryj8pHAmw5iETS9) Note: Make sure to check each session description to see if you need any extra materials.
